pooka (924.4 days ago) I keep anything i really would be upset if it got broken put away or out of reach. I have a baby gate for our stairs. I moved all my cleaners to the hall closet on the high shelf. I keep the bathroom door closed. and have plug covers but my son is more interested in the outlets if they have covers, he also figured out how to pry them out so I kinda gave up on those. Other then that not much for baby proofing.
athenab1984 (924.4 days ago) The only thing I have is a gate at the top of the stair case, outlet covers, even though she never even attempts to play with them and a pool safety gate. Not that she would ever be out in the pool area alone..but it`s a good piece of mind. It`s the very first thing we got installed when we bought our house.
MelissaJoanne (924.5 days ago) I have one gate, but it`s not really for safety or `baby-proofing` exactly - we have a very long apartment, and we use the gate to divide front from back, so my daughter doesn`t end up on the other side of the apartment from where we are. That`s all we`ve done so far.
KR (924.5 days ago) I dont have anything in my house. My son was NEVER one for outlets but im finding my daughter is. We dont use door covers, baby gates, or anything else. At one point we had a baby gate when i had stairs in my house and my son was 5 months old. But other wise the kids do well for the most part.. I just teach them as time goes on whats they are allowed to touch and what they are not allowed to touch. I do think you cant do that with stairs thoughl, you need to have baby gates at the top of stairs.
butterblocksmom (924.5 days ago) Mine is basic....I think it all depends on the baby and age/stage too. I think you quickly learn WHAT you need to do to YOUR house...although I have to say I started off as the uber-safety proofing mommy...and then I relaxed. I like Monkeymammas way of doing it...you are teaching them as you go along.
armymom (924.5 days ago) only plug covers and one gate to block the stairs for now and only one cabinet that holds cleaning products is locked. My house isn`t that big and there isn`t a pool so not much is needed to baby proof.
monkeymamma (924.5 days ago) We have no pool or stairs so no gates needed. I never moved anything up higher....we just say no, don`t touch, that`s no yours...etc. I do keep remotes, phones, and my books/magazines away from his reach though but that`s because I don`t want the channel changed every 5 sec!
