Rubes (903.7 days ago) I`ve heard you can sleep any which way you like. As for the back, it`s only advisable NOT to sleep on your back if you feel dizzy, light-headed, etc.
Twomarchbebes (904.5 days ago) I thinnk sleeping on your left side allows more oxygen to reach the baby thats all. It`s not a significant amount but i think an artery or something gets squished a bit if you sleep on the other side. Atleast thats what I was told when I was pregnant. Sleep in whatever position you find comfortable because if you`re like me there aren`t many ways to be comfortable!
blondiex2 (916.7 days ago) My doctor told me that I can even sleep on my stomach if I want to if it feels fine. She said each separate woman hits a point where they can tell they cant/shouldn`t be sleeping on their tummy anymore. Pretty much she said, when it gets uncomfortable that`s when you know not to do it. First trimester I was overly worried and wouldn`t lay on my belly. Now I`m seven months and I tried it in a soft bed and I felt really comfortable (it had been months and monnths!). However, when I asked the SO for a backrub and tried it again I think he almost had a stroke. He thought the baby was going to get smushed. So, now back to back rubs while laying on my side which aren`t as good :(
blondiex2 (916.7 days ago) I swear they can come up with anything to make you worry. Sometimes I feel like they should just put me in a bubble until my son is born :) . Anyway, yes I still sleep on my right side. I`ve only heard of this through moms by the way, never through a doctor. Like bellamami said though I do not lay on my back for too long (totally forgetting the name, vena something I think, the weight of it on the baby) but even that sometimes I do for a few minutes because I need to stretch and I can`t always be on a side.
canadababy (916.7 days ago) It`s best to sleep on your left side, best for circulation. BUT if you have no problems it`s fine to sleep whichever way you feel comfortable, until you don`t feel comfortable. I slept on my back and on my tummy until it was physically impossible :)
.punky. (916.7 days ago) It`s okay to sleep on your right side. Just not your back.
