MichelleMc(pink!) (911.6 days ago) If the cat is actually vomiting, take her to the vet. If it`s hairballs, that is normal for most cats, but it can be controlled by feeding her a higher-quality cat food designed for hairball control. And, as others have said, have DH brush her regularly.
leelers (912.1 days ago) Ugh... My bf`s dogs are huge german shepards and they shed soooo much! Shepards shed a ton, but his have skin allergies so they shed even more than normal. I have to sweep at least once a day to keep it tolerable. I can not stand pet hair, not to mention I have bad allergies, yet I am the one who has to clean, sweep, vaccume, dust after these dogs. Not to mention one of them is destructive, he gets into the trash and throws it all over the house (even the cabinets are locked with baby locks) he eats my panties, socks and has even eaten the crotch out of three pair of expensive jeans cause I was on my period when I wore them and also ate my Louis Vuitton. He also bark ALL the time, and is aggressive to other dogs (when we moved in together I had to let my Chihuahua live with my sister cause his dog tried to eat him on numerous occasions)This dog has worn my nerves thin, but BF won`t even displine him when he catches him doing bad things so that leaves me as the bad guy. Nothing I say or do will change his mind about these dogs, I really do feel like I come second to these damn dogs. Don`t get me wrong at all I am a huge animal lover and would never allow anything bad happen to them, but I am at my breaking point!
Lookalike (912.1 days ago) Right after I commented I read the poll to my husband and he said to tell you about the kitty door to the garage. He put in a kitty door so we can keep the litter box in the garage where it won`t stink up the house. That could be a viable option or maybe the cat will meet with an `unfortunate accident,` wink wink.
Lookalike (912.1 days ago) My husband HATES my cat with a passion, especially now that he has to change the litter box until I have the baby. My arguement is that she was there long before he was, so she has seniority.
RowanSkysMom (912.1 days ago) I wish all I had was a cat! I have a dog and two cats (was 3 cats but one just died a month ago) and ever since I had Rowan 20 months ago I can`t stand them. But, I was the one to take them in and I think it`s wrong to get rid of them because they bother you later on down the road. Someone said to maybe take the cat to the vet to see if the throw up problem could be treated and that`s a great idea. Most likely it`s something that can be fixed. As far as hair goes, IDK my dog is the the hairiest beast on the planet and I can`t stand it.
crystalwinds88 (912.1 days ago) Try changing the cat food. Sometimes the type of food can affect her tummy. If she was a stray, or even if shes not, watch how she eats... watch to see if she scarfs it down like she`s never eaten. I know a stray we had would scarf food down because in the outside world, they have to eat and eat quick to keep food. You may need to offer her smaller portions more often. And try to brush her with a brush thats used to pick up loose hair... she may be grooming herself and theres too much hair for her tummy to handle.

luvin Colton (912.2 days ago) unfortunately you have to put up with it, mine had(she finally passed) a nasty almost hairless mean german shepard mix, and i love dogs ive always had at least 5! but she had so many health problems made our floors covered in black even when i vacuumed daily, i had to give her a million pills, like its my dog or something. it was so bad id get out of the shower and use a just out of the dryer clean towel and be covered in black hairs, yuck! his dog was old and sick all the time too so it was always a mess, i feel bad cuz i really dont like cats! i know its super hard, especially since cats live forever! good luck hun
blondiex2 (912.2 days ago) Then again, since I love cats it was hard for me to picture a cat this bad. I should have pictured my brother-in-law who pretty much is the same way you described the cat. I can`t stand when he needs to `crash` here, I feel like I should scrub down my entire house after he leaves. Ugh.
crystalwinds88 (912.2 days ago) Trust me girl, Im in the midst of a baby that I wanna kill. I love animals to death. Im a veterinary technician and would do anything for an animal. But my husband has a cat that is now 14 years old and he pee`s on EVERYTHING. Couch? Definately.. he`s hit 2 of em several times. Clothes? Of course... Plastic bags? Yeppers... Bed? You got it!
Its not old age because apparently he`s been doing this all his life. I have tried everything and I have finally gotten to the point where I lock him up in a bathroom with a litter box every night and any time we will be goneor out of sight. I cant get rid of him because my husband has had him for 14 years but its sooo nasty to possibly sit in a puddle of piss. Oh and the bathroom deal has worked so far but he will now piss or poo in the tub... but he uses the litterbox too. I have changed his litter to scoopable, non, scented, non scented, paper and clay. It`s no use.
blondiex2 (912.2 days ago) Well, I love my cat so much so I probably know more how your DH feels than how you feel, but then again I have a kitten and it sounds like my kitten is ten times easier and cleaner than your DH`s cat. I agree with what the other ladies said about the cat possibly being sick. Even me being a cat lover I don`t know how I could handle the constant throwup. I think that if your hubby got the cat to the vet and it stopped the throwing up, things would be easier. The other stuff you can fix easily, like the litter box keep somewhere in the house you won`t have to see it much and make DH change it 1 or 2 times a day. My SO changes ours twice a day so it literally never smells and is always clean. Does he know just how much it bothers you? Like you said it wouldn`t be fair to just take it away, but at the same time, is this something you`ve been trying to get him to do something about for awhile now?
jessberr31 (912.2 days ago) Oooh, yeah, pets are about as much work as a child! I think nutnut has some great ideas! I`m allergic to cats so never had one, but those things she mentioned seem like if they work for your cat you will have much of the problems solved! Good luck!
happyforest (912.2 days ago) have you taken this cat to the vet?? maybe this is a problem that can be treated easily.... or maybe the poor cat is sick or in pain :( if you havent taken it in i would asap! well make hubby...
harimaudahan (912.2 days ago) I know it wouldn`t be fair to get rid of her, and he does clean up after her when he`s home, though not as often as I`d like. As I typed this poll I heard her hacking up another puke spot somewhere in the house that I know I`ll have to clean up cause the hubby is in TX until tomorrow night. Nutnut I completely understand about abandoned pets, I always make sure our pets are spayed/nuetered, and even have helped out with strays that I have found. I just seriously hate this cat LOL. We've had her for 7 years, I've tolerated her for a long time, but we were in military housing. I just dont want the puke and black shedded hair in our new home once we find it. I'm sure I'll just have to make it work..but it wont be easy.
jessberr31 (912.2 days ago) Ugh. I hate animal hair all over! And throw up? Forget about it! I would go crazy too, especially around my baby/kids! I would talk to him and let him know how unhappy its making you and that if things don`t improve with the cat then you guys will have to come up with a better solution. I know thats his `baby` but you/baby/kids should come first and if the cat is affecting your happiness/well being/hygene at home, well, thats not fair.
nutnut (912.2 days ago) i wouldnt get rid of the cat. too many animals are put to sleep bc owners abandon them its not fair to the pet. i would just let your DH know he needs to clean up after the cat bc its his cat not yours and thats that. what you can do is close every door in the home that you dont want the cat in. thats what i had to do bc i had a very spitefull kitty who would pp on my bed if his litter box wasnt scooped the moment after he went. so i had to keep the doors closed and be sure i stayed up on his litter box. i have a dog that liked to mark things, so same with him i had to keep doors closed or he would mark the toilet. soon as i shut the door, he stopped. if the cat is throwing up, it could be hairballs, the vet can give medicin for it, and you can change the cats diet to help with hairballs. theres also over the counter treats to help with hairballs. so those three things jsut might take care of the vomit issue. as for the litter box. just have DH keep up on it, or maybe if you have the money invest in one of those boxes that basically clean themselves and put the box in a location that is out of the way like a pantry or someplace where it wont be so obvious. i found that even the litterboxes with the hoods on them (the covered ones the cat has to crawl into) keeps the smell down alot. i no longer have any more kitties, and am down to one dog. pets can be as much work as a child. good luck i hope some of my suggestions will help you with the kitty =)
yorkc39 (912.2 days ago) We had a cat that I got from a friend who said it was a stray and he couldn`t keep it but it was a nice cat, so I took it and gave it to my DH before we got married. When we got married, we had this cat and another that his old roommate left bc his gf was pregnant, so we then had two cats. The stray, though, I found out puked all the time, and I was constantly cleaning up after every meal she ate. I tried to make it work bc she was so nice and very pretty, but she was ruining our apt! I had to give her up to a friend bc of her problem, though he still gripes on me for giving her up to this day. I`ll probably just get him another similar one and hope he gives up, lol.
happyforest (912.2 days ago) well if the cat is his baby, it wouldnt be fair for you to make him get rid of it. but its not fair that you are having to clean up after HIS cat, if you do have to clean it up...does he help out?? i would tell him that you dont like the cat, but you understand that he does so if he wants to keep it then he needs to start helping out bc you dont care if its there or not.
harimaudahan (912.2 days ago) Typing too fast lol..that was supposed to say litter box.
