mdbabyno1 (911.9 days ago) Wow. I can`t believe in some cities you can get a sitter to come to YOUR house for $100 a week. Here you pay anywhere from $10-$15 an hour for a nanny at YOUR home. I live in Orange County, CA. Other circumstances are cheaper like a mom to watch your child. I`m not sure what daycare prices are but I`m sure they would be in the $200-$300 a week range.
Holly28 (912 days ago) I live in Canada...so any Canadian mom`s answers would be appreciated. I was thinking that around $100/wk seemed reasonable especially since its in my house and everything is provided. But I know my friend pays $200/wk for actual daycare which seems crazy to me. I will need someone for about 24hrs a week until I start my new job then it will be 18-20hrs a week.
acruz2343 (912 days ago) i live in virginia beach and i watch a 6 mo old 50 hours a week (8 a.m.-6 p.m.) for $125..he is the only child i keep, other than my own 9 mo old son..
avaann (912.1 days ago) my first sitter i paid 130 and my current sitter i pay 125. m-f fulltime. i supply breastmilk, diapers, wipes. look into that, too because some may provide all that (besides breastmilk, ofcourse). thats for private in-home care with about 2 other children. i called a regular daycare center and they wanted 212....crazy, huh? i live in va beach. sucks.
robing (912.2 days ago) You need to post where you live because the childcare rates vary HUGELY depending on where you live. I live in central upstate NY and it is half of what it costs in NJ where my sister lives. Where I live it is about 25-35 a day (like 7:30 - 5ish) Or $3.50-$4 an hour per child. I charge 3.75 an hour but I know some who charge up to 5 but that is very rare. Usually about $130-$150 full time a week per child.
