Baby-poll poll I`m trying to decide whether to buy the convertible carseat that goes up to 40 lbs or the one that goes up to 65 lbs (to avoid having to buy another one later), but I have no idea what kids typically weigh when they`re older... what was it like for you? Comments are much appreciated!

Used the 40 lb seat, then went straight to booster.
Used the 40 lb seat, child became too heavy for it but was not yet ready for booster.
Went straight from infant seat to convertible with 65 lb limit - but it was overkill.
Got the 65 lb seat and needed the extra weigh allowance!

I would go with the 65lb seat or even one that goes to 80lbs. It is substantially safer for your child to be in a 5 pt harness as long as possible. They say the best is to keep them until 80lbs/8 years. I actually had the infant seat. Then i got a convertible seat that went to 40lbs and now i use a Britax Regent that goes to 80lbs. It is a very comfortable seat and far safer than a car`s seatbelt for my 47lb 4 yr old. :-)

I got the 50 pound seat & plan on getting a booster later. In TX, the new law coming into effect requires the child to be 8 years old or 4`9`` before getting out of a booster.

Extension of last Valentine question..I should clarify that we are having V-day dinner tomorrow alone but still just the fact that he bought our gifts at the same time at the same place bugs the s-it out of me. He knows I like plants and I`m pretty sure he went to a nice nursey and got me one but the fact is he told me he got his mom a small little plant. OMG I fee like I total b-tch but I feel like telling him I know what he probably got me and I do not want anything that you are giving your mom!! But then he wopuld know I snooped and saw where he went on our checking account.

O.k I know this is a off the wall question..Is it weird and selfish of me to be annoyed that my husband has is giving his mom a Vanetine gift and card tonight when she comes over and wants to give me mine too today? I know I`m probably being sensitive and I feel bad that I made the comment `if you give me the same thing as your mom I`m gonna cry`. He said I should`nt ruin the surprise and I told him I was sorry but I just wanted our Valentines seperate because everything includes his family and it`s a day for lovers. Am I....
