Pregnancy-poll poll My friend had a C-section on her 1st but now they have given her the VBAC option. Shes really confused as the risks on both side are horrile. Whats your experience if youve done this? Wat did u decide? Any helpfull suggestions for her? Thanks

I am having one in December. Having had two naturals my midwife feels I will do fine. But I am prepared for the fact things can go wrong no matter the type of birth you choose. C-section carries many risks too!

I will be trying it when we get there, I am hoping I am not in the % that has complications but you never really know. I have a friend who attempted it and was not successful she said your best chances was to use a doula so thats what we are going to do. Her experience was horrible from what she told me but both her and the baby came out of it okay.

I had a horrible experience wtih my vbac and suffered years of pain from healing and a mom on this site sadly lost her baby from a vbac ~ I wouldnt ever risk it again or advise it ~ to dangerous!! Even if the risk % is low what if that % was you??

I am planning on having a VBAC. I have read alot of information about VBAC`s because I have been planning on having one with this pregnancy ever since I had to have a c-section last pregnancy. From what I have read there is alot more complications that may or could happen with a c-section compared to a VBAC. The statistics I have read that the chances of your uterine ruptering is about a 1.5 to 2% chance. I was really scared at first because I just heard about the scary things that could happen but after reading up about VBACs I feel quite confident and excited to be able to have this chance. I have not gone through the VBAC yet, but I will be trying everything to get and be prepared for a VBAC (Such as excersing). They have websites that will help you better understand and prepare and support you with a VBAC decision.I hope this helped.

She should check out http://www.vbac.com/ it has good information about vbacs. If she has a horizontal bikini and they did a double suture inside her chances of rupture are very slim. As for blood clots I don`t know why they wouldn`t just give her blood thinners after a c-section. They give them routinely here for 3-4 days after your section. They hurt like a damn though!

Shes scared as shes been told if she just has another C-section then theres a chance she might have to have hysterectomy if it goes wrong, she could have blood clots(her father just had a heart attack caused by blood clot) and a few other things could happen. But if she has the Normal Birth(VBAC) then her womb could irrupt through her C-section scar. So shes completely freaked out and had 4wks to make her decision! xx
