I would go with a one side electric. I had a manual avent but just pumping at home just to increase my supply became a pain. I love my electric and think it was a really good decision to get one. It shouldn`t hurt after the first few weeks.

Yes my hand would hurt every now and then but i would just switch and use my left hand for a couple minutes and it would be fine. I have minor arthritis in my hands too and the days it was bothering me the most it would just take me a couple minutes longer to pump.

for the ladies using the manual (which is what i have been leaning towards) how about the hand cramps ive heard about?? how bad is it esp if its something i plan to us for at least a yr...i hope...

My sister also likes her manual pump. She is in full control of it so it take far less time to use. She works full time and is able to get plenty of milk with it. She paid about $40 for it too.

Pumping shouldn`t hurt. Its never hurt me, ever. I personally liked my Avent manual pump better then the medela electric pump that i borrowed from my SIL. For some reason it really bothered me having something electric pumping milk out and found that doing it manually i was able to get more milk out in a better amount of time and it was more comfortable being able to control it, i had this fear that the electric would malfunction. Plus it was a lot more portable and i was able to carry it within the cooler it came with, with the bottles in there too while i was at school. But my friend who was also BF used an electric pump that used a car adapter to work in her car and pumped in her car when needed. But the concensus is usually an electric pump, i personally liked my manual pump and used it for the entire year when i needed it.

Electric definatly because breast pumping hurts and its really hard to purposely hurt yourself by using a manual pump i prolly would have givin up after a couple of days if i didnt have an electric pump

  1. What do you think is better (or worse) for kids? TV or video games?
  2. I`m interesed in getting an innotab for my kids. Are the extra downloads pricey? How is the product as a whole?
  3. Thought they were fixing the problem with the profiles? Mine is now starting to disappear and most of my friends profiles are gone. Is it getting fixed or what because its more than a joke at the moment. Maybe its the ads causing the problems because its the only thing that seems to stay when the profiles disappear.
  4. If you had a `favourable` cervix (started to dilate and soft) did a membrane sweep work for you?
  5. Should I buy my sister a Belly Bandit for her shower? She said that is what she wanted when I asked. I just have a hard time spending that much money on some thing she might niot like. Especially because it was me who put the dumb :) idea in her head!! I bought and used one for three out of my four and loved it...but is it for everyone? Or should I throw down the money to something more practical?
  6. Are your children exposed to two hours or less of TV per day? (This includes when your shows are on and they are awake and around at the same time in the same room)

  7. Just finished making a birthday cake for the first time from our baby girl for her daddys bday tomorrow :o)
  8. Extension of last Valentine question..I should clarify that we are having V-day dinner tomorrow alone but still just the fact that he bought our gifts at the same time at the same place bugs the s-it out of me. He knows I like plants and I`m pretty sure he went to a nice nursey and got me one but the fact is he told me he got his mom a small little plant. OMG I fee like I total b-tch but I feel like telling him I know what he probably got me and I do not want anything that you are giving your mom!! But then he wopuld know I snooped and saw where he went on our checking account.
  9. O.k I know this is a off the wall question..Is it weird and selfish of me to be annoyed that my husband has is giving his mom a Vanetine gift and card tonight when she comes over and wants to give me mine too today? I know I`m probably being sensitive and I feel bad that I made the comment `if you give me the same thing as your mom I`m gonna cry`. He said I should`nt ruin the surprise and I told him I was sorry but I just wanted our Valentines seperate because everything includes his family and it`s a day for lovers. Am I....
