hunnybunnysmama (901.3 days ago) no nuts! no nuts! until they are at least six. my friends 23 month old DIED by aspirating on a nut... there is something about the oil in nuts and how it reacts to your lungs if you suck particles into them that is FATAL, not just a choking thing... (sorry it was and still is the most HORRIFIC experience of our lives, no nuts!) any time I can I plead "no nuts!"
nmck (901.4 days ago) My son has a peanut allergy and I recently discovered sunflower butter. It is nut free, and it has a lot of fat. The good fats too...omega 3s and monounsaturated. He loves it on toast and waffles! I bought my first jar of Sunbutter brand at Target, then found it in the organic section of my grocery store for a better price!
.punky. (901.5 days ago) I was going to say many of the things cheekybee said, avocado, nut butters (if you are comfortable feeding nuts at that age), coconut and olive oil (I give my dd about a 1/2 tablespoon of each daily mixed in w/ oatmeal or milk etc)...um the rest I can think of are dairy so I guess that`s it for now :)
