nicnmicsmom`s poll Show results | Hide results

Baby-poll poll My 7 week old drinks between 4 and 5 ounces of formula about every 3-4 hours except at night where she goes about 5-6 hours. Is this normal? She`s been drinking this amount for a few weeks now and won`t take anymore than that? Normal?

This website helped me outline what my DD should be taking in... with formula babies you need to be careful not to overfeed. Since you are in control of holding the bottle they will drink until you move it where as breast babies will unlatch. There is such thing as overfeeding a baby. http://www.babyzone.com/baby/nutrition-chart.pdf

Im not sure, the formula box gives a guide line of what babys should be taking, but my baby boy is 18 days old and takes around 4-5 oz... hes quite a big baby tho (8 lbs 12 oz at birth) so maybe thats why he drinks so much. As long as your baby is gaining weight and satisfied then im sure she is fine. xx
