courtenay (898.8 days ago) i am totally leneient for now, my daughter is only 10 and half months old so theres not really any disciplining yet however i try and teach by using positive statements instead of negative ones and i do alot of redirection and repetition. I try not to use the word no and i certainly do not physically discipline her at this point but i am not opposed to a swat on the bum when she is older if it is needed.
charlihadley (898.8 days ago) oh girl, when my son was a yr old,i would thump his hand, or swat it if he didnt listen to me, now hes 18 months and get his butt spanked! he is very well behaved, listens to me, and doesnt wine and cry. hes such a great kid. everyone always asks why i have suvh a grea kid, be ause i was a terror when i was little. haha....i think dicipline is very important...im not strivt tho, he gets away with a ton, but serious matters he knows not to dothings because he will get spanked haa
pc (898.9 days ago) I say firnly, `no` or `let`s not pick up the X`, If repeatly, I`ll gently swat/tap his hand. He`s 8 months.
armymom (898.9 days ago) I guess my disciplining style is one to be laughed at because I don`t think Garrett takes me seriously.. I don`t know if I take myself seriously. lol.. Hopefully DH will be the discipliner because I want to be the `good guy`
mikey and cjs mommy (898.9 days ago) i started to lightly swat my son on his behind if he was not listening to us around 10months. or if we would constantly try to touch or grab something we repeatedly told him no too....we would swat him lightly on his hand and pull him away from what he was getting into. now at 16months we do the same only now we will stick him in his time out chair after a couple times of having to raise our voice no at him and then swatting him. i wouldnt say we are strict really cuz we do encourage his curiosity andlet him get into things we would really prefer him not to. We are only `strict` when it comes to him doing something that he could get hurt at, or break something we do not want to replace.
