loribb`s poll Show results | Hide results

Other-poll poll Okay, so I`m 27 years old, married to a wonderful husband, I have one beautiful daughter who 1ill be 1 year old in Novemeber. She will be getting a baby sister in September, they will be 10 and 1/2 months apart. I am having a scheduled c-section and have opted to have a tubal ligation. Good idea? Bad idea? Not that the results will change my mind, just interested in the opinions of others.

i would say wait...my hubby and i were thinking about doing the same after this one is born (only on him) as we both know we want NO MORE kids....right now anyways. we both agree this is it for now and we will take EVERY precaution we can to keep it that way. however we both agree that being so young and havong two back to back...we dont not want to jump into something so permanent because if our finances and such allow us to a few years down the road...i think we would like to have one more. but like a few years down the road. but after that we will be done for sure! haha but as of right now we are done...we just dont want permanize it just yet....

My personal choice would be for my husband to have a vasectomy, but it is a personal choice. If you really do not want any more children then since you are having a c-section anyway it might work for you. I just think the hubby should have to do something, because I had the babies. Probably a bad reason, but that`s how I feel.

No, please don`t do it. It is such a serious procedure for a woman. Your husband should have a vasectomy. Women deal with the birth control side of things for most of their lives; men should have to do it when it comes to something permanent. For women, permanent sterilisation is a SERIOUS procedure, for men, while still a huge decision to make, and probably quite nerve-wracking, it is in no way near as big a thing as it is for a woman. The vasectomy is a simple outpatient procedure, with huge success rates, and hardly any side-effects. Tubal ligations, however, can wreak havoc with a woman`s hormonal system and can have terrible side-effects. Read on up on both, then both of you make a decision.

I am in a similar situation, 27, married to the greatest husband, a beautiful daughter with a son on the way. At first I said I wanted a tubal ligation during my c section with this baby but after some thought I changed my mind. When my dd was born and even when I was pg with her my dh and I said ONLY ONE CHILD!!! We were SET and FIRM!!! NO MORE KIDS. Well, that changed by about 4 months pp and here I am preg with our second. Of course now we are saying absolutely no more this time for sure, and I really do think that this will be our last, but you just never know. The way I see it, God has a plan for our family and I don`t want to do something so permanent. My dh and I have decided if in a couple years after having our son we still do not want kids, he will get a vasectomy, which is waaaay less invasive and easier to recover from and not to mention, reversible. Good luck :)

  6. OMG, I posted on FB (in reponse to a suggestion made to me on From Our House To Yours) that I didn`t like a business because the items were very expensive and my friend got a bad deal there and the owner is threatening to sue me! Have you ever heard of such a thing? I actually paid a consultation fee and my lawyer told me that she was `absurd with possible mental health problems.` I am protected by the fisrt ammendment to express my honest opinions freely where I choose, but he said she can take it to court(because people can TRY to sue over anything) anyway and that it might cost me legal bills. We will both be out a lot of money because she couldn`t possibly win. Can you believe that? FML! First my records and now this! I hope my baby isn`t a bad luck baby. I see people not recommending or recommending businesses all the time on FB!
  7. Is SaraKelly still on here? I know she was a mod but I didn`t see her post in the previous Who Is A Mod poll...
  8. ANGRY!!!! My jenakers account is missing my ENTIRE journal from my high risk pregnancy and my letthisonestick account for my 7 month old is completely gone along with my journal. I AM SICK OVER IT!
  9. I`ve re-thought the moderating of the member-postings. How does this sound? Let`s change it to usage, rather than length of time as a member. Say your first 10 or 20 polls, questions and pictures need to be approved by a Mod or something like that. Someone posting the racist polls and adding the kiddie porn is unlikely to participate as a normal member. Once you are verified as a regular member you`re no longer monitored.
