Sorry but I dont think any child needs to be taught how to do this ~ if as an adult they need help then fine but most learn perfectly well on their own *wink :)

In the schools here in Ireland, they teach the kids of 5 and 6 about strangers, and to differentiate between good and bad touches, using little booklets and pictures like two kids hugging = good touch. One kid pinching another = bad touch. They do learn some vague things about other `bad` touches, but no sex ed. Just enough to know what`s normal and what`s not, as regards personal space and things. I think the things they`re proposing to teach kids as young as 5 are way too graphic, and while I understand the need for kids to know enough to report abuse and the like, there`s no need for teaching a child that masturbation feels good. That`s just a bit icky for a 5 year old to know.

I totally agree, it should be parent`s responsibility not the educational system`s, which is a failure at it`s best anyways.

this has always been my thoughts on sexual education in school, regardless of age.. which by the way is just plain CRAZY. They are learning how to tie their shoes and follow direction, I don`t want my 5 year old son learning how to please himself or learn about sex! he has YEARS for all that to come. Anyway, my opinion is it`s not the schools responsibility, never has been never should be! If you can`t sit down and talk about it with your kids then look online and find sites that help you with explaining it to them. I hate that the government over steps its boundaries!
