KFinTX (894.3 days ago) COBRA will cover you for up to 36 months. If he`s laid off or terminated, you only have to pay 30% of the premium -- that makes a $1000 bill only $333... definitely helps.
Str8 As (894.6 days ago) As kimmarie said, you DH should be able to get cobra. If that is not an option, in Wisconsin, we have Badger Care, which is a state provided insurance. Your state should also offer some type of assistance. You may want to at least get the paper work, because it can take anywhere from 2wks to a month for approval. Also, there are some requirements you must meet to qualify (e.g. income, age, family size). A lot of ppl who comes into my job are denied the first because of the restrictions; but are then approved with some fancy foot work..lol. Please look up the information in your state to learn all of your options.
kimmarie (894.6 days ago) It`s pretty expensive but you should be able to get Cobra.
njfran (895 days ago) Medicaid definitely helped us, my DH had just started a new job when our daughter was nborn and could not get health insurance until 3 months later. Medicaid or whatever it might be called in your state should most likely cover your baby.
