a-mum2b (893.8 days ago) thank you for all your inputs! My SO is wanting to open a buisness and he thought of this. Of course I would run it, allongside a couple of other moms I know. And yes the hours would be longer than 4pm-11pm. We would actually want to open around 530ish!
blondiex2 (893.9 days ago) I would hope that I don`t ever need childcare for those hours, but if I did, I would do it as long as I was comfortable with the place and the people my child would be with.
california-mom (894.3 days ago) I provide child care for entire nights. I only have one night child though. 3 nights a week, 10pm-10am.
KFinTX (894.4 days ago) There`s one in my area that`s open 24 hours-- right next to the hospital, actually. They get great business & have good ratings as far as safety and stuff goes. I`d use them if I needed to, no problem. Yes, it`d stink having to wake him up to take him home to sleep, but if that`s the only option, that`s life.
nikkipearl (894.4 days ago) I think its a good idea...the only thing i wouldnt like is that the children would most likley fall asleep there and then you would have to wake them up to bring them home...
jekajoy (894.4 days ago) I am a nurse and I work from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. I would love a home daycare that would work with my hours and not charge me a million dollars for `after 5 pm` Not working isn't an option here I have to live and pay my bills.
RobinG (894.4 days ago) If I had no other options I would. The only reason I would be very hesitant is because I would want my child going to sleep in their bed and to remain there undisturbed. Having them woken up each night to go home to me isnt healthy. And spending night for 3rd shift is never something I`d consider. I`d not work or find a new job if that was my only option. I would def consider a daycare that had extended hours til 8 pm though. When the childcare is needed during bedtime would be a concern of mine, I`d want the childcare provider to be in my home so they go to sleep in their own beds.
nmck (894.4 days ago) 4pm-11pm is not enough hours. Most night shifters work 3-11 or 4-12. Yuo would have to be open for a longer range of time, but I bet there is a market for it. Good luck!
nutnut (894.4 days ago) it depends on who is opening it. i couldve used day care that had extended hours bc i would get off work sometimes around 7-8. i wouldnt take a job that i had to have my child in a daycare that late. it seems a bit scarey to me. but who knows. ive never heard of any being open much past 7. i couldnt find one in my area anyway. but if i knew the person who was running it, and i knew of ppl who needed it, yeah i would send them.but if youre asking if i would send my kid to a daycare until 11pm probably not if i could avoid it.
