RobinG (891.2 days ago) The best way to save money is price shop ~ it beats coupon clipping at times on some items. Where I live I have 2 stores I use. I am able to get my items the cheapest at each store. I never buy and pay more for an item because I dont feel like driving acrossed the street to get the item cheaper there. I make two lists one for each store. I look at flyers and shop whats onsale. I look at bulk items ot see if it is cheaper (its not always). I pick generic over brand name if I like the taste. Many coupons are brand names and even with the coupon the generic is cheaper and I`ve found I like the generic much better anyhow. You really have to know the prices etc etc of the items you buy. Plan your meals and buy at once versus multiple store stops (uses gas to dirve there more often) Make items ahead and freeze if you have room. Make from scratch versus prepackaged. There are many ways to save money if you are creative and plan well. I was sitting with my sis one day and said I buy my shredded cheese from target for mac and cheese and she asked why, I said cause it is alot cheaper there. She looked at my oddly. she said I never pay attention to that. You will save by knowing prices, much more then just cutting coupons :) BUT that said some coupons are DEF worth using so only clip and use what you def will eat :)
Lookalike (891.2 days ago) Unfortunately coupon clipping doesn`t actually save you any money. Most of the coupons are for name brand stuff that you wouldn`t buy anyway if you just stuck to a list. For example my grocery list may have things like dry beans, rice, milk, and cereal. None of these things except the cereal would even have a coupon. The cereal is still cheaper if you by the bagged store brand. So there really is no reason to clip coupons if you plan your grocery list and stick to it. We spend $45 per week on groceries and I have never had the need to clip a coupon. If you`re looking to save money you should read `The Tightwad Gazette` by Amy Dacyzyn. I think I spelled that right...
