adriana03 (70.3 days ago) yeah one of them is for preterm labor. i called him and he said to stop taking the ampicillin. That some people get that reaction after a while of taking antibiotics.so i can start taking the terbutaline again. Thanks everyone@!
nmck (70.3 days ago) What were the meds for? Isn`t one of those for premature labor? Call your doctor!
Naaster (70.4 days ago) As long as the allergy is only a bit of a red blotchy rash, you can take Benadryl. If however, you start swelling around the eyes or mouth, or have ANY shortness of breath, skip the doc and go to ER. Most of the time these things are self limiting, but antibiotics can stick around in the system for a week or so, so keep an eye on it. It`s pretty miserable. Benadryl not only stops the reaction but helps with the itching sensation. It`s safe in pregnancy according to my doc, too. They even tell me I can take it for insomnia.
canadababy (70.4 days ago) I didn`t vote because I don`t know what you should do...i went to a walk-in as soon as i had an allergic reaction to a sulpha medication. Like you I had hives, but only around my ankles and I stopped taking the pills immediately too and went right to the doctor :)
