I apologise to you all if I came across as rude, it is just something I feel strongly about and I did not mean to hurt feelings, so I apologise for that. i realise now people have taken offence, and I know no one wants to harm their children I wasn`t implying that at all. I simply wanted to warn those who haven`t had their sons yet or who are thinking about having it done -- I just wanted to warn them off it. That`s all. So again i apologise if I offended those of you who have done it. But i will stand by my beliefs, just as you will stand by yours.

My dad is Jewish...My brothers and cousins are all circumcized as is my son and will all my sons after him. HAVE WE FORGOTTEN THAT FOR SOME PEOPLE ITS A RELIGIUS ISSUE???? Thanks, lets keep that in mind before calling it mutilation. Also...Its not SHOCK, especially if they sleep through it. My husband was there for the entire 5 minute start to finish procedure and he literally slept through it.

i agree with kadesmom completly....and for moms who didnt get it done...who are you to tell us who did get it done that we are mutilating our sons and we are in the wrong...dont judge us you dont know the reason y we got it done...my dh ended up needing to get it done when he was 14, and being someone whos had it both ways, he 100 % believes being circumsized is better

It is a choice that we make and should not be put down for it either way you choose. Rude comments and putting others down is just childish and many should do there research on it a little closer.

kades that`s totally untrue. Its removing 1/2 to 2/3s of very sensitive and highly specialized skin full of nerves and sensation. Effectively what they are removing if it were flatted out is a piece of skin the size of an index card for an adult male. Not only that it also bares the glands and under flesh to irritation and rubbing which in change toughens it and makes it less like mucus membrane (as it should be) and more like normal skin. In countries with low rates of circumcision they have LESS issues with male dysfunction in older adults. As for the idea that the less sensation means more time until orgasm they also find that uncircumcised men have a better sensation and understanding on when they will orgasm so they actually have better control over it then circumcised men do. People seriously need to research this stuff. I have read literally hundreds of pages and studies and reports and they discount ALL of the popular arguments.

its no less mutilation then female circumcision is which has also been practiced for thousands of years for religious reasons. why is it not acceptable to us? Because society tells us its not, that is the ONLY reason.

Considering doctors are governed by certain BODIES of medical professionals all of which DO NOT endorse circumcision as being medically necessary. Why do people think doctors are above OPINIONS?? Your doctor does not always give accurate and unbiased advice! Read and learn the facts. Don`t do it because everyone else does. The US is now the only country in the world with a greater majority of boys circumcised. Don`t you think its time people actually paid attention to good science and not society`s norms?

Here in Ireland, it is a very sad issue if someone has to be circumcised for some medical reason. It is traumatising and awful for someone if they have to have it done. And over in the US millions do it for no reason?!?!?!? WHAT?!?! Come on people I just don`t get it. I could not stand by and watch while someone mutilates my perfect newborn son. I have no idea why so many people are brainwashed into doing this

Also, why the hell would they be born with it if they didn`t need it?!?!? Our bodies don`t make parts of us for no reason, it is their for PROTECTION. DON`T mutilate your baby boys. I think circumcision for non-medical reasons is sick.

NO WAY. It is entirely unnecessary MUTILATION. It SHOCKS me that so many people do this to their perfect little newborn sons in America and so many other places. Here in Ireland nobody does it. I think it is weird and cruel.

I would say circumsize as well, i heard they are not as prone to infection as if they were not circumsized because bacteria and what not can get under the foreskin. Usually the dad wants the son to be like him. u should get his input. but it is not abnormal if u dont get it done! good luck on your decision. !

I think circumcision is good altho we didn`t for my son (dh didn`t want to). It keeps the penis cleaner and less prone to infections. Since we didn`t circumsize our son, I have to clean his penis by pulling back the skin. Ped recommended.
