nmck (877.6 days ago) I lost 35 pounds this summer. I know I am MUCH more effective when I do not just eat better, but actually record what I am eating and count my calories, etc. B/c you may think you are eating better and not actually be eating better calorie wise. So I would add food journaling to my regime too. Good for you for making a conscious health choice!
Duhnellie (877.7 days ago) If you are focused on weight loss you have to expend more calories than your caloric intake. And with working out you should be working out about 30 to 60 minutes 3 to 5 days doing moderate to vigerious(64 to 93 percent of your maximum heart rate) Your max heart rate is 220-your age. So to determine what intensity you should be working out at here is an example (220-22=198 x .64= a heart rate of 126.) On a scale from 1 to 10 you want to be between 6 and 9 intensity wise. Depending on your intensity level if you have been working out for a while then you want to start out at a higher intensity and for a longer duration of time but if you havnt been working out you would want to start out at a more lower intensity and shorter duration of time. And to mention this is for cardio. For a well balanced work out you are also suppose to do 2 to 3 days of strength training. There is probably alot more to this and the reason I do know about this is because my Husband graduated with bacholors in excercise science and has a certificate for a health fitness specialist and is currently in grad school for physical therapy. I also follow his guidlines when I do my workouts.I know this is alot of information but if you have any questions about it you can write me and I could ask my husband. I dont know exactly what kind of work out you are doing and what kind of food you are eating so this is the best answer I could provide. I hope this helps.
Str8 As (877.7 days ago) You are starting to build muscle. You may not notice a significant change, but something is happening. In a few more weeks, you will be able to see change. Hang in there!
brendalee (877.7 days ago) It`s takes a while for weight to come off. One of my brother`s completly cut out coffee and soda from his diet, and ate a specific diet that a nutritionist gave him and it took him 2 months to loose 5 pounds. You have to burn 3,500 calories to loose ONE pound. My dad used to run 8 miles every morning, and that didn`t even come close to burning 3,500 calories to give you an idea of how much work you need to do.
jeff (877.8 days ago) Since muscle weighs more than fat...no. I know I usually gain weight in the first few weeks of a new workout program before I start loosing weight.
