heathert (874.4 days ago) I agree with ladobruk. All you can really do is treat the symptoms to make her comfortable. Look at the CDC or your department of health for more info on it.
avaann (874.6 days ago) if she doesnt have a cough (or any respiratory issue) i wouldnt be TOO scared.
TaniamommyX3 (874.8 days ago) The swine flu is just like any other flu that you can get during the flu season except IT IS MILDER! The reason the swine flu has so much hype is because it is spreading VERY quickly and it was spreading outside of the flu season time frame. Practice good hygene by washing your hands and your childrens hands regularly and keep your daughter hydrated and in bed. It may run a course of about 2 weeks but it will be mild.
mimi2b2aboy (874.8 days ago) also besides what pc said about diareaha being a big symptom, dehydration is as well. majority of the people that had swine flu had a temp that couldn`t come down and were dehydrated. if your mama isn`t able to keep any liquids down i would lean towards the swine flu. but you can never be to cautious.
angie08 (874.8 days ago) Thanks ladies and I will go check out the sites!!
pc (874.8 days ago) I just attended a two hr swine flu briefing at my job last week. Many places are not taking tests to determine which type of flu it is anymore, bc the swine flu has become so mild. In addition they reported the majority of the people getting the flu have the swine flu rather than the regular flu. They also said the main difference between the two now as for symptoms is the person usually has diareaha with the swine flu and not the normal flu. Besides that, both flu strings are almost identical in the duration they last as well as recovery medicines - which can be over-the-counter. I was also told that if you catch the flu you can`t catch it again this season, but you can catch the other strand you didn`t catch during that same season.
pooka (874.8 days ago) I think all you can do is practice strict hand washing and try to isolate her from others in the family. Keep her home and watch for signs shes doing worse. I would also highly recommend checking out this article : http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/51913.php you can also google vitamin D and flu prevention.
angie08 (874.8 days ago) My 8 yo daughter came home on Tuesday from school with a temp of 100.9. Well I took her into the doctor yesterday and the doc said she isn`t ruling out the swine flu, but alsop told me they won`t do a blood test for it or test it in any way UNLESS she ends up in the hospital. What pisses me off is that I have a 7 mo (well he will be on the 26th). WTF is wrong with doctors??? Anyway...her symptoms are...running a fever anywhere from 100-5 - 101.8, very fatigued, seems her equilibrium is a bit off, upset tummy (has not thrown up), chills, and she`s major stuffed up (which she woke up with that yesterday morning. I`m scared shitless because swine flu is scary and she could end up in the hospital or spread it to the baby...or one of us. PLEASE if anyone has any info...please share! Send me a private message if you want, I don`t mind. My LO has a cough now and has been extremely cranky, but he is also cutting teeth...so I`m assuming it`s from that. I HOPE so anyway!UGH!!! Sorry for it being lengthy, but I need info!
