Deff my child. But I think my BF would want that anyways. He would be pissed if I chose him and left our child to die. But I wouldn`t choose him anyways!:P If it were my BF that had to choose I would want him to save our child!

wow that`s really sad... i couldn`t imagine leaving my daughter in her carseat to drown like that :( i hope i would have enough courage to fight. i wouldnt be able to live with myself if i did what she did.

I have no doubts most women would choose their kids over their husbands, but I wonder what the percentage would really be for choosing themselves over their children. I know we instantly think we would save our child before ourselves. I know I do, but I wonder which would take over in the heat of the fight or flight response. I saw on TV the other day a women who skidded off the road into a river and she swam from the car leaving her 4 year old strapped in his carseat. She was hysterical and luckily her husband was just ahead of her and saw the accident, turned around and dove in to get their son. I was dumbfounded she left him, but I am certain if someone had asked her what she would do in that situation she would have answered I would have drown trying to save him, but she choose flight over fight in the heat of the moment.

My husband would want me to save my kids over him. I can see the percentages being that high with men saving their wives over the kids.

My children come before anyone in this world, my mom, husband, anyone. It would be my child. I wouldnt think twice. I could never abandon my child like that.

I chose my child. But husband walks in, and I asked him the same question, and he goes, `neither.` I said, `So you`re going to let us all die???` And he goes, `That`s something that the Nazis used to do. Make mothers choose one child or the other. Either we all make it or none of us do.` My husband. (We`ve been watching a lot of WW II documentaries lately.)

I would save my daughter, my husband would understand. She comes first, as parents it is our purpose to protect our babies. I know that if he had to make that choice, I would want him to save our daughter.

My daughter, not to be heartless but its a big part of urself! Ladies we all survive better without a man! And i think 50% of us could be happier :-)

brendalee (873.1 days ago)
My hubby is trained to survive lol It`s his job. Ugghh, damn...If I HAD to choose, I`d save my daughter. Why do we only have to save one though? lol

mdbabyno1 (873.1 days ago)
Wow tawny, I am surprised with that study. If my BF saved me and not our daughter, I would be pissed and kill him... hahaha j/k but seriously, I can`t believe that many men would save their wife over their child.

courtenay (873.2 days ago)
i would save my daughter no questions asked, but i feel like that is an easy decision for me since there is no man i love in my life, and had i to choose between the SD and my daughter.... well lets say i would gladly sacrifice him without the reasoning of being stranded and having to choose. haha harsh, but true. but seriously, even if i was in love with him and we were still together i think it would be harder but i would still save my daughter over him.

I read an article in a magazine a while back that said that in this situation 60% of men would actually choose to save their wife over their child. I mean I suppose that`s great and all... but honestly I could never imagine it. I know this is a horrible decision to EVER have to make, but I know if I ever had to make it, both my boyfriend and I would want the other to save our daughter. Anyway, the article showed that more men would save their wives and more women would save their children. It really shows where our priorities are... don`t ya think? :)

  1. I`ve re-thought the moderating of the member-postings. How does this sound? Let`s change it to usage, rather than length of time as a member. Say your first 10 or 20 polls, questions and pictures need to be approved by a Mod or something like that. Someone posting the racist polls and adding the kiddie porn is unlikely to participate as a normal member. Once you are verified as a regular member you`re no longer monitored.
  2. How long did it take you to get pregnant after you got your IUD (Mirena) out?
  3. Twilight valentines for 7 year olds... appropriate or not? DD received a valentine with a very... sultry smoldery Edward on the front and I was just kind of surprised that anyone would buy those for 7 year olds? I know I`m on the conservative side in general on those kinds of things, but this really surprised me!
  4. My daughter is almost 5 months and 3 weeks ago my hair started falling out. I know it`s normal but how long did it last for you?
  5. With all the issues going on with the site maybe we need an updated list on Mods. Obviously Laura is the one to go to but if there is a concern and it needs immediate attention and a Mod is online it may be good to know who is who so you can reach out to them. Mods, can you please post here so we know who you are. (Esp since some profiles names had to be changed because of recent log on issues)
  6. Anyone wanna try http://parentspuzzlepieces.spruz.com/ a free community site I just made? Let me know if you want the password and would want to help add things to it!!
  7. I think with all the posting issues IAP needs to appoint someone to verify all pictures, polls, questions, etc that are posted by new members. Sure, it`ll probably make things slower, but something needs to be done! Many websites have this installed and IAP needs it as well. Members that have been on the site for a certain time can be exempt, but if you are a new member, posts should be monitored. I`m going to copy this suggestoin to Laura and if you agree you should too!! :)
  8. MODS ~ please help me in monitoring the photo pages and other pages. Horrific porn was posted in photos sections and they need to be deleted as soon as they are seen. I reported it to Laura also. TX!!
  9. my 4 yr old has 3 planter warts on his foot,.. any home remedies gals or is this a dr visit?
  10. ok ladies, sry its long but i really need some advice, a year ago my 5 yr old brother was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, over the last year my mom has had a hard time dealing with his diagnosis because there is no cure and all she can do is give him 5 insulin shots a day to keep him alive, she looks at it like march 13th 2011 was the death of her healthy little boy and she woke up with this sick child, well i always tell her she needs to go to counseling to learn how to cope with this but lately i`m more worried about my baby brother, he came home the other day from kindergarten and had a picture of a red headed boy with a knife, 3 people under the ground dead and another one on top of the ground covered in blood, he recently grabbed one of my 15 yr old brother`s pocket knives out and started swinging it at my older brother because they were fighting, and then he told my mother he wanted to be a serial killer when he grows up! he has said before that he wishes he would die, that he didn`t want to wake up the next morning,..... (more inside)
