hollysnum2 (869.9 days ago) When we started potty training my daughter (she 2 now) we bought the potty and we make a HUGE deal out of the potty! When we first started we would put her on there and sometimes would have to wait 30-45 minutes for her to potty, but when she did go, even if it was just a little bit, we would jump up and down and clap. After about a week, she would go in there and potty just to see us get excited! You could use sticker or candy as bribes I guess. We didnt do that cause I didnt want her to think that she always got a reward for doing something. But that is me! Good Luck!
mamix2nluv (872.7 days ago) i let my daughter run around in nightgowns and panties... and i had to watch her and constantly stay on top of her.. we put the potty in a convenient spot for her and i had her peeing in the pot within 3 days.. but i am a S.A.H.M and thats what worked for me.. i had a hard time with it when she was in daycare bc they didnt work with her... but after i quit and stayed home it was on!!!! unfortunately it was before her 3 bday and she just turned 4 and i just got her poopy in the potty trained a few months ago.. bascially it takes time, patience *which i dont have with this but had to learn* and consistency.. GOODLUCK!!!
courtenay (872.7 days ago) we already have the little potty out and set up (has been for awhile) and she looks at it and stuff, she follows me in the bathroom too and i explain about the toilet, and she has (by total fluke) pee`d and pooped on the big potty a few times. anyways, i was just wondering what some of the initial steps for potty training are that i can start doing? shes only 11 and a half months but i wanted to start working at it when she started walking and she is now taking some steps. besides that, she is showing signs of being ready anyways, she does know when she is wet or dirty because she will take a diaper and bring it to me when she wants to be changed. so please dont add anything if the only thing you have to say is shes not ready. i am looking for people who have experience starting potty training younger than the majority of people start. or maybe from EC`ers who never used diapers at all. thanks.
