Other-poll poll Just curious- how far have you `flown from the nest`?
(Other poll by MummyLJ, 52 days ago)
I still live in the same town/city I grew up in, or less than an hour away from it
I live within a day's drive of where I grew up
I moved to another country
I still live on the same street I grew up on!

MummyLJ I`m in the same boat. I grew up in Arizona and moved to Northern Nevada 2 years ago. I love it out here. I miss my whole family to pieces and talk to like 10 memeber everyday, but I have no plans on moving back. To be honest the move was what was best for my own family.

7 mins away from my parents house... 5 mins away from in-laws.. very convenient SO`s job, my job, baby sitter, and sons school is within a 3 mile radius. I`m all about convenience.. lol

Moved from India to the US :) Just like inb25, all my family lives there. But we visit every 2 years, sometimes every year. And my parents stayed with us last year for 5 months when LO was born. Miss them all terribly.

8.5 hours away!!!! Funny though cause I have been gone now for 10 years, I have a LO and my parents are moving here! Next week, they will be exactly 30 minutes from me! Drive way to Drive Way! LOL! So lets see how that works out

My family continuously makes me feel guilty for not living near them especially now that I have my son. I live an 8 hour drive away, it`s not that big of deal, but they act like I moved to the moon.

I live out of state. I was born and raised in Michigan, I live in Florida. My mom, sister, and grandmother are all in Michigan.

I moved from Israel to the US. Now how bout that for distance? lol. My entire family are there. I came here on my own to pursue my music career...only later when I Was ready to go back home I met my husband and decided to stay. I miss my family terribly. I go visit twice a year. I do love my life here though...

Uh... neither of these. I grew up in NY and currently live in UT...and if we move when my DH graduates, it`ll be more west than we are now. It`s over a days drive even if we went on no sleep...and not much of an option with our LO. (we did it once when I was pregnant and broke it up into a 3 day drive) It takes most of the day just to fly there...but still the same country. It`s really rough for visiting my family. And most people don`t understand.

I live in Hawaii and my family lives in California -- That`s a 5 hour flight plus airport time and driving. I love to visit with them but glad I`m not there, and glad they go home.

The reason I ask, is everyone always says `oh it must be so hard living away from your family` etc.. (I grew up in the midwest, and now live in Quebec, Canada) And it kind of makes me feel guilty for not feeling bad :P Make sense? I love my fam, I just also love where I live...
