I used a monitor. But whenever I heard my boys cry I would go into their room and watch them. I wouldn`t touch them or say anything but I would go in and sit in my rocking chair and wait until they fell asleep again. And if they kept on crying for more than like 5 or so mins, or their cry was a different sounding one, I would check them to make sure they were ok, not wet, or something. Good Luck.

lyric.. I think that is what she is trying to do, she wants to ignore him when he cries and use the cry it out method. I like you lyric would respond to the baby quickly.

I say just remember to be consistent with it, if your gonna do it stick with it. It can be tough but well worth it. I waited until 11 months and we were up several times a night but I loved her sleeping with me. When we did it she fussed some not bad and slept 12-14 hours a night. She needed it. She loves her bed. On the monitor I would make sure I could hear him for sure.
