RNMom2010 (849.7 days ago) I will be seeking full time employment as a RN after the baby is born. I am actively seeking a job right now, 23 wks pregnant so maybe I can get a little time in as a new nurse before the baby is born. Career is very important to my husband and I.
cncmom (849.7 days ago) After I had my first I went back to work part time and when he was 1 1/2 I quit my job. I wasn`t making hardly any money by the time I paid for gas and daycare. Either way after I had my second I was staying home for sure.
pregnant barbie (849.8 days ago) I run my own business from home so this will fit right in...hopefully :)
.punky. (849.8 days ago) I have my degree, but before I had my dd I was not using it, just working in a restaurant. So it was an easy job to leave. I am pg w/ #2 now and have not worked since I got pg w/ dd a bit over 2 yrs ago. I haven`t really thought about going back to work as I didn`t really have a career when I was working, so nothing to go back to really. Once my babies are older, 5ish and in school I guess I will think about it. I don`t have any trade skills or anything though, so if I do go back it will prob be a min wage job or something, just part time while kids are in school. I don`t think I`ll ever use my B.A. but I went for the education anyway, not to go into any specific career.
mackvaldez (Melissa) (849.9 days ago) I have to go back to work as I make the most money in my house. I know others say a baby needs his mom more thany any amount of money but a baby also needs a house to live in and food to eat so money must be considered! I am trying to talk my husband into being a house husband and staying home, we will see how that goes. But my career is very well established and high paying... changing careers is not an option nor is quitting.
akthel (849.9 days ago) Thanks for the response to my poll question everyone:o) I was just curious what others were planning to do with their careers. I have put mine on hold until my children are in school, I have a 1 and 2 year old and I am expecting my third baby in a couple of weeks. I was able to find a job that wasn`t my choosen career, but enables me to contribe to the family income and raise my kids. My dh and I felt is was important for us to be the ones to raise our kids. That being said, I don`t have problem towards anyone who does things differently then us. This is one of those decisions that is very personal and there is no right or wrong way. My job is causal and works around his schedule. I love being able to be home with my kids, but I also like being able to work so we were lucky to find a solution that worked for us.
shivon (849.9 days ago) i agree with armymom again-lol! some mothers go back to work as soon as baby is few weeks old,now i think a baby need its mother more then anything and any money in t world is not worth although some people must because they really wouldnt manage.if you must go back to work then it sould only be a fe hours a day,not more then four.i havnt worked for a while but im a hairdresser from home,my kids are very close in age and havnt yet had the chance but hopefully after this one il start to work again.financialy right now its not easy on us but im at home with my one year old and my 2 year old comea home at 1 from playgroup.
armymom (849.9 days ago) plan to stay home until ALL my babies are over a year old. I`m pregnant with #2 now and might have a #3 close in age depending on how things go... when the youngest is over a year old then I`ll go back to work/school fulltime.
