Holly28 (849.1 days ago) We just got over it in my house. Both me and my daughter had it. It really wasn`t a big deal and was pretty much like any other flu. Try not to worry. The reason there is so much hype isn`t because of how sever it it, it is because of how quickly it spreads and because the population it is affection the worst (and only in RARE cases!)is different from regular flues.
blondie9504 (849.1 days ago) There was just a case of the H1N1 a couple of weeks ago that a mother had to have a c section because she had the H1N1. Sadly, she didn`t make it. The baby is in the hospital still (expecting to be realeased within the next week if all is well) She was 5 weeks premature. This happened only 2 towns away from us. (Less than 15 miles) This stuff is crazy! Winter isn`t even here yet, and I`m already waiting for sumer lol.
jekajoy (849.1 days ago) Even though they`ve `hyped it up` it`s real. There`s a lady on a ventilator at the hospital that I work at that had her baby taken by csection at 32 weeks and they don`t suspect that she`ll live. It is scary but just remember to wash your hands or sanitize them. I`m staying home more these days than going out in large crowds. After you disinfect the house, just make sure your SO showers immediately when he gets home and that they aren`t sharing drinks etc at work. Perhaps put his clothes in the washer as soon as he walks in the door.
luvbeingamom (849.1 days ago) I know you are freaking out but keep in mind this is a flu. A bad flu, but still a flu. IF your daughter got it and with proper precautions (she shouldn`t get it, if you wash your hands keep things disinfected, which sounds like you do) it should be fine. I know how scary it is to have a sick infant. At 5 days old my son was re-hospitalized for viral menengitis that he contracted in the hospital at birth. It was the scariest thing i ever went through, but i learned something very important from that. you can`t protect your children from everything. So you do what you can. You love them and send a prayer to whoever it is you pray to. But as the others said, You couldn`t get me to leave my baby for 4 days at that age. No chance. I would send my husband to his mother`s before my child left me :-)
blondie9504 (849.1 days ago) Ok, I should ad that this coworker is at work and my SO is the supervisor so he is in close contact with this person. I`m not trying to freak out, but she already had a cold this weekend so this really worries me. I`m just trying to take every precaution we can so that none of us get this virus and especially so my daughter doesn`t get it. I know they`ve made this virus out to be more than it is but with an infant there is really nothing they can do IF they get it.

mommiekayla (849.1 days ago) Infants are rarely sick..strep throat and a stomach virus went through my house when my daughter was under 2 months old and she didn`t get sick at all. There is really no need to freak out, don`t let the media hype about H1N1 keep you from your infant. I couldn`t leave my 11 week old for 4 days!! Good luck
blondie9504 (849.1 days ago) Okay, so my SO just called me from work and said that one of his coworkers child has the H1N1. My daughter is only 11 weeks old so she can`t get vaccinated for anything yet. My daughter is with my stepmom and she is going to keep her until Friday until I can completely bleach my house and clean everything up. Is there anything else you can reccomend to do? This is scaring the shit out of me. I want to see my daughter but I don`t want to take a chance of her getting sick. I`m going to call her doctor in the morning to see if there is anything else I can do but any suggestions would help. Thanks!
