munchkinsmommie (847 days ago) a whole bunch of nothing. We waited for about 2 hours the first for the judge to say the lawyers were not ready to come back tomorrow. Went back the next day waited about three hours and all cases plead out. So nothing but sitting there. Then there were no other cases for the week so I got paid $30 for 2 days. I live in a small county by the way.
kimmarie (847.1 days ago) I was on it in April. I was sent to the worst court house (criminal). I got there and there were tons of television cameras out front due to a story that was on the news with Drew Peterson. Anyhow, there was a long line. You can`t have any food or drinks. There were women in line with babies in their arms. They were sent home. You cannot wear a belt. So I took mine off and you have to go thru an xray machine. The woman behind the counter got a little feisty cause I put my belt on the wrong tray. When I got upstairs, you have to provide your paperwork to them and they give you a number. I don`t know what she say on my paperwork but the first thing out of her mouth was `Are you police officer?` I`m not. She didn`t ask anyone else that, only me (?) The room is rather large with a bunch of TVs all around and vending machines. I sat by the tv that aired ABC. At 9:00 the head person came in and explained what was going to happen throughout the day. After different periods of times they call numbers. If your number is chosen then you have to go with them to meet the attorney`s and such. Lunch was an hour and a half ~ which was expensive and they make you pay. My number was never called. And, they let us out at 2:00. They can keep you much longer if they choose. I got lucky. Overall it wasn`t that bad. Just bring lots of magazines. A lot of people had their lap top with them - guess they felt they were going to miss out on something!
