Lou-Li-Ro (843.2 days ago) Well, having twin toddlers I sometimes tear my hair out because of the amount of work that goes into the two of them!! But then ALSO I do wonder sometimes how I`d cope if they didn`t have each other to play with and distract each other on rainy days. Having said that, they DO fight because they are siblings and siblings fight (A LOT!) so ... it`s really up to you! I personally would want another one about now if I hadn;t had the two of them at the same time...
femi (843.5 days ago) a playgroup is a good idea, only i work full-time, but at least she has one other playmate at the sitter`s .....
femi (843.5 days ago) hahahaha that`s cute, we have two dogs and they do play well with our daughter.
blondie9504 (843.5 days ago) Well I have 3 stepchildren 12, 10, and 8 years old. They live in another state so they haven`t met their little sister yet. They fight like cats and dogs lol. It gets old after a while! I don`t want anymore kids so when my LO gets old enough to need a playmate besides Mommy and Daddy, I`m getting a puppy. No more children! I love them all to death, don`t get me wrong but dogs can`t talk back lol. And I don`t have to bottle feed a dog and change their diapers plus they can clean up the floor after the baby is done eating! I`m not seeing a downside to this dog theory :) At 12 weeks old she already loves dogs, my Stepmom whom has a Schnoodle, watches her while I`m at work. They love eachother! Even though I`m not much for little dogs so I`ll probably get a Shepard or Lab or something for her. Depending on where she`s at milestone wise, I would like to take her to the pound and pick out a puppy for her first birthday or next Christmas :)
RobinG (843.5 days ago) Nope :) having playmates is not always the same as a sibling. Playmates go home and you still have the one on one time which to me is very important ~ we have a spread and LOVE it! when its a sibling they are always there and at times causes just the opposite effect and leads to tantrums since it is then sharing all the time. I would just be sure to have your LO in a play group and play with friends often til you are ready but never just have another one to give her a plyamte :) I think a 2.5 year plus spread is always better.
nmck (843.5 days ago) I always knew I would want more than 1 child anyway (ideally, 3) but I am not surprised you are finding this. On days that we are home all day, I call my sisters and ask someone to drop off or let us pick up a playmate. It makes the day so much better for my son, and usually whichever cousin comes over!
