I just saw your poll and thought I`d make a comment even though we are nearly at the end of our 9 months. I have had the occasional drink throughout both my pregnancies, red wine with my first and since this pregnancy was a summer one the odd beer here and there, always with a meal and mostly as a treat. I believe like all things its personal choice, if you don`t feel comfortable you shouldn`t do it.

This is a difficult topic because some mums who DID drink while pregnant may feel that they are going to be bombarded with `preachers`. In my opinion there are far worse things to take then the odd glass of wine. For instance DRUGS and CIGARGETTES! I had perhaps two or three glasses of wine diluted with lemonade during my whole pregnancy. I am not a massive drinker anyway. Mothers have been having babies long before scientists discovered all that they have. I fully understand people who say what is the point it is only 9 months, but on the other hand how many babies have been born with some major defect or condition because the otherwise `healthy` mother had one or two glasses of wine. This is subject goes down the same line as smoking, some people do it some people despise it, but what can you do about it? I love my children more than I can even express and will do everything in my power to protect them, but unfornately I am a mere human being and therefore am not perfect.

My opinion... i would never do it and i doubt any doctor would tell you its ok to do. Why not just wait 9 months? It to Me seems selfish to drink alcohol because you want to when you have a baby inside of you that you are putting at risk. i am suprised by how many women actually do it.. But to each his own! Hun you obviously have doubts and are not feeling good about it so why do it?

When I found out I was pregnant a lot was changing in my life. I made a lot of very significant changes but I did continue to have an occasional glass of wine. If you feel guilty, drink a glass of water with it to help dillute it

  1. OMG, I posted on FB (in reponse to a suggestion made to me on From Our House To Yours) that I didn`t like a business because the items were very expensive and my friend got a bad deal there and the owner is threatening to sue me! Have you ever heard of such a thing? I actually paid a consultation fee and my lawyer told me that she was `absurd with possible mental health problems.` I am protected by the fisrt ammendment to express my honest opinions freely where I choose, but he said she can take it to court(because people can TRY to sue over anything) anyway and that it might cost me legal bills. We will both be out a lot of money because she couldn`t possibly win. Can you believe that? FML! First my records and now this! I hope my baby isn`t a bad luck baby. I see people not recommending or recommending businesses all the time on FB!
  2. Is SaraKelly still on here? I know she was a mod but I didn`t see her post in the previous Who Is A Mod poll...
  3. ANGRY!!!! My jenakers account is missing my ENTIRE journal from my high risk pregnancy and my letthisonestick account for my 7 month old is completely gone along with my journal. I AM SICK OVER IT!
  4. I`ve re-thought the moderating of the member-postings. How does this sound? Let`s change it to usage, rather than length of time as a member. Say your first 10 or 20 polls, questions and pictures need to be approved by a Mod or something like that. Someone posting the racist polls and adding the kiddie porn is unlikely to participate as a normal member. Once you are verified as a regular member you`re no longer monitored.
  5. How long did it take you to get pregnant after you got your IUD (Mirena) out?
  6. Twilight valentines for 7 year olds... appropriate or not? DD received a valentine with a very... sultry smoldery Edward on the front and I was just kind of surprised that anyone would buy those for 7 year olds? I know I`m on the conservative side in general on those kinds of things, but this really surprised me!
  7. My daughter is almost 5 months and 3 weeks ago my hair started falling out. I know it`s normal but how long did it last for you?
  8. With all the issues going on with the site maybe we need an updated list on Mods. Obviously Laura is the one to go to but if there is a concern and it needs immediate attention and a Mod is online it may be good to know who is who so you can reach out to them. Mods, can you please post here so we know who you are. (Esp since some profiles names had to be changed because of recent log on issues)
  9. Anyone wanna try http://parentspuzzlepieces.spruz.com/ a free community site I just made? Let me know if you want the password and would want to help add things to it!!
  10. I think with all the posting issues IAP needs to appoint someone to verify all pictures, polls, questions, etc that are posted by new members. Sure, it`ll probably make things slower, but something needs to be done! Many websites have this installed and IAP needs it as well. Members that have been on the site for a certain time can be exempt, but if you are a new member, posts should be monitored. I`m going to copy this suggestoin to Laura and if you agree you should too!! :)
