megandgrace (841.4 days ago) My daughter just got over the flu, the doctor`s told me that anyone who gets the flu this early in the season is most likely to have swine flu even though they didn`t test her for it. It was horrible and lasted 10 days. High fevers that wouldn`t go down with tylenol and mortin but they did help her feel a little better. It caused a horrible cough and her lungs to wheeze but never infected her lungs so she was put on an inhaler just in case and to make sure her oxygen levels up. All the congestion did cause an ear infection by day 7 so thats what made it last longer so they put her on an antibiotic and the next day she finally started to get better. I felt so bad but i just let her sleep whenever she wanted and made sure she was hydryted because she refused to eat anything! She lost 3 lbs in like 4 days. Worst week we ever had, i just felt so bad because there wasn`t much i could do for her and now my mom is coming down with the symptoms, i felt like i was getting a cold for a while but feel like i am fighting it off! RobinG (842 days ago) Both my boys have the flu and I`m sadly getting sick now too ~ my 3rd is on tamiflu ~ did they test and confirm or just say she has it? Our office said the test they have confirms flu but not which strain. And if the test for swine comes up negative it isnt only 70% accurate and could be wrong. Symptoms are about the same for both strains. We gave plenty of fluids, rest and motrin for pain. The head ache I have is unbearable so be sure to give goodmeds for pain. EditDelete
JustTha5ofUs (842.3 days ago) two of my three had it, and it took about a week to get rid of, any symptoms you find not normal, march them right back in. i just made sure they were peeing, pooping, and drinking enuff to not dehydrate them, and everytime i noticed the fever spiking, i would make a barely warm bath. not cool, cause they get too cold too quick from boy temp being so high. the fever will be your main concern, meaning whether or not she geets one, and let her cuddle!! (if you can) EditDelete
canadababy (842.3 days ago) My bestfriend`s 10month old had it in the summer :( he had a very high temp for 4 or 5 days and all they could do was give him tylenol and comfort him until the fever broke. He made it through alright though and is happy and healthy now, good luck! EditDelete
