I`m a little confused about this too, but in my case it`s a bit more important because I am having a scheduled c section and my ov date is a week diff then the date the dr. gave me. But my only reassurance for going with the date the dr. gave me is that I had an ultrasound at 12 weeks and it turned out baby measured 13w1d. Ideally the ultrasound to date the preg should have been earlier, but 13 weeks is still pretty early so I am going by that. My c/s is scheduled for 39 weeks, so if the Dr. is wrong I will be 38 weeks, which God willing will be just fine anyway.

If they are going by your last period, that`s not accurate. The first ultrasound you get (hopefully around 8 weeks or so) is a great way to determine gestational age. If you know the exact day you ovulated, (like you were charting it or taking ovulation tests) that`s more accurate than the last day of your period. My daughter was due July 9 when the Dr. went by my last period, but since I ovulated so late, she didn`t measure to be due until July 29! Big difference!

i go by the date the doctor gives Me which does match up to when i ovulated. It is only a few days different in your case which isn`t too big of a deal. Also all of your records and testing and due dates are going to be based on doctors date so it is just easier to stick with the date they give you.

i know with my daughter it was the 12th. doc said july 4th. i ended up induced july 9th had her on the 10th. i still feel if i wouldve waited she wouldve come on her own by july 12th, but i was having labor and stalling so rather than have me go home and end up back a few hours later, they decided to just move me along.

Agreed, 4 days is nothing really. And the doc will go by it and it will be the formal due date in your chart for hospital Plus OV has nothing to do with it, the baby grows and begins to produce HCG when the egg implants, so the size of your baby and your due date are effected by implantation not when you OV.

The doc is going to go by the 9th, so you might as well just stick with that. Also 4 days give or take won`t make that much of a difference in the end.
