MamaTex (838.7 days ago) We cook chicken & dumplings, go to the Christmas Eve candlelight service at church, and the drive around the neighborhood looking at all the Christmas lights. Then we prep for Santa. :-) EditDelete
BabyBsmomma (Joni) (838.7 days ago) The last 5 years or so on my mom`s side we have different country themes...so we will eat food that`s popular in that country (especially around their holidays) some relatives dress up, maybe play games that that country does and then we all sit down and read about how that country celebrates Christmas or what their beliefs are..its very fun- different every year and all ages enjoy it! Educational too:)--This year i believe we are doing "Ireland"- i'm excited! We also always have a lit candle for my grandpa who passed away 10 years ago and say a special prayer to him as well:) EditDelete
RobinG (838.8 days ago) Our family believes in the kids not traveling Christmas day to be taken away from their gifts and family time :) So on Christmas Eve we all gather at my inlaws from the traditional home made mac and cheese, fried haddock and perogies. We then all exchange our gifts and Santa comes and drops off a red bag with an added gift for each. They open stockings there as well. Then on Christmas dady we are home and opening our own gifts and Santa gifts/stockings at our homes and not traveling ~ EditDelete
california-mom (839 days ago) Open one present and bake a happy birthday cake for Jesus =) EditDelete

lovelee (839.1 days ago) We give the kids glow sticks and go see christmas lights whilst listening to chrismas music. Before bed the kids hang there glow sticks in there room so santa can find them easier. Then I stay up most of the night setting up presents and the kids wake me up really early in the morning!! mdbabyno1 (839.2 days ago) Ever since my first Christmas I have always read `The night Before Christmas` so I started it last year for my daughters first christmas. We also each open a gift and a new ornament to hang on the tree. We go driving around town looking at lights and play christmas music. This is getting me SOOO excited for Christmas!!! EditDelete
shez05 (839.3 days ago) We go to my Mum`s place and have a `family Christmas dinner` and then we all sit around and say a thakful prayer - while watching the Christmas carols we open our presants from my parents and grandpaarents and we get them to open there`s! At around 10.30pm we leave to go to my in-laws place and then we go to church at midnight with them and go back to there place and open gifts. Chirstmas day is usually spent with extended family - so having that closesness on Christmas Eve is nice! I would like to maybe have a big breakfast with my son, husband and me this year and open gifts then! :)))) EditDelete
nutnut (839.3 days ago) and yes i let my daughter open her christmas jammies too lol EditDelete
hopefully3 (839.3 days ago) Our tradition has always been to get together with the whole family and have a big dinner and the open presents from the family. Then on Christmas day we stay at home and the kids open their presents from Santa clause and we then go and have a brunch with our entire family again. But this year is our first year not having family around so we will be making a new tradition this year! EditDelete
shesxchaotic (839.3 days ago) Well our families live literally 10min apart so we go to my parents house (I have a 5yr old sister and a 7yr old brother) and we do a gingerbread house and we all get to open one small gift. Then we go to my in-laws and eat dinner and then we go to Christmas Eve candlelight service and then back to their house to open one stocking stuffer. Then Christmas morning we go to my parents areound 8am to open gifts and then to the in-laws at 11am (his brother is 20 and sister is 22 so they sleep in haha) to open gifts. Then back to my parents for lunch and then back to his parents for dinner. Holidays are CRAZY for us haha EditDelete
munchkinsmommie (839.3 days ago) We always get new pair jammies and slippers/socks to open and wear. We always take a picture in our new jammies. Leave cookies and milk for Santa. EditDelete
soon2be3 (839.3 days ago) Growing up, we always lit a candle to guide Jesus` spirit into our home on Christmas Eve. It was a long white tapered candle and we placed it in a window. Then, my parents got divorced and my mom and two sisters moved out of state. After that, my mom would always send me a white candle to light on Christmas Eve at 5:00. So, even though we were far apart, we were connected by that moment. To this day, I am 33, we all live in our own homes and still light a candle at 5:00 pm. Always a single candle in the window...always a white one. As a little kid, I always secretly thought it was helpful because not only did it guide Jesus` spirit to our home, but also was a nice beacon for Santa and Rudolf. LOL!
My tradition with our kids. On Christmas Eve we have them open one present, which is their Christmas jammies. Then, we have them sit on the stairs and take their picture. I plan to do this as they grow up and have kids of their own. My MIL always use to have us do this too... EditDelete
ashleyplus2 (839.3 days ago) My whole extended family goes over to my grandma`s house, and we have hot cocoa and cookies and watch "A Christmas Story". Our family always opens one present each, and we get new pajamas to wear that night. EditDelete
