luvbeingamom (839.2 days ago) There are good and bad things to hormone replacement. My good friend had a hysterterictomy (sp?) when she was 40. There are pros and cons to taking them and not taking them. The big con in taking them is an increase risk of cancer. However there are also risks of not taking them, like ostioperosis (sorry my spelling is awful!). I would sit and speak with your doc about it, though in the end, it sounds like you will just have to weigh the risks vs benefits and make the choice yourself. With my friend, Her doc did a pro/con list with her.

jessberr31 (839.3 days ago) Thank you cheekiebee, very interesting. They are saying that its the combination therapy. They say that if you have a complete hyst it can be controled with estrogen alone, but if you still have a uterus (which I will) then they also give you progesterone to keep from getting uterine cancer, and the combo of the two is whats doing it. I am so glad to know that! I wonder if having my dr take my uterus out is an option. I don`t get to talk to him until tomorrow so I want to talk to him knowing all I can about this horomone stuff.
