Jo-Mama (836.6 days ago) I still have my placenta in my freezer (I had a home birth) but I have no plans to eat it. I think I will plant it beneath a tree, but I have no room to plant a tree in my yard, so I guess I`m just waiting for a good friend or relative to move to the country. I can`t imagine just throwing it out, though. So it`s in my freezer (clearly labeled!) for now.
ladykilla421 (839.1 days ago) hrmmm...after reading the comments and realising that you could make `placenta capsules` I would consider it, kinda gross but not nearly as puke-worthy as eating it cooked up on the barbee.....I cringe at the thought! Im sure taking it in capsule form would be beneficial, I mean animals eat the placenta after giving birth, its just humans who placed a stigma on it!
Aiona (839.3 days ago) And menstrual blood is chock full of iron, but you wouldn`t find me eating it either!
california-mom (839.4 days ago) And I dont see it as eating another animals body...its a human organ. HUMAN =S
california-mom (839.4 days ago) Joel Stein wrote a hilarious article about his hippie-ish wife Cassandra eating her placenta. Im sure you could google it, I cracked up and read it a few times. Other than that, my old ECE prof ate hers. Weird. I couldnt do it, capsule, pasta, whatever. Ew.
My5Babies:) (839.6 days ago) I know someone that ate it. She had a home birth and felt like she would be throwing a part of her and the baby away. She said it tasted like liver. She didn`t eat it all in one sitting, over the course of a few days.
15yearsapart (839.6 days ago) At first I thought this question was a joke b/c eating the ugliest thing I`ve ever seen is the farthest thing from my mind. However, knowing how nutricious it is, I guess having it encapsulated wouldn`t be bad.
MelissaJoanne (839.6 days ago) Ditto the other two - I only know ladies that have had it encapsulated.
LKLmama (839.7 days ago) I have friends in real life that make it into capsules a then take those.
