linzigenavieve (837.7 days ago) I waited till they were over a year and I never watered it down. They still prefer milk and water over anything else, which I`m very pleased about.
juels101 (837.8 days ago) I didnt start giving juice until about a year and a half, and I always dilute it. I give 3/4 water and 1/4 juice. They still get the fruity flavor but this way you don`t have to worry about over sugaring etc. Plus it has helped her not have a super craving for sugar and she still enjoys water.
hopefully3 (838.1 days ago) i gave my children juice as soon as they could drink from a sippy cup and i diluted it half water and half juice.
weeblette (838.2 days ago) We haven`t...and she`s almost two!
t555rm (838.5 days ago) My son had his first taste of juice at 8 months. And no, I didn`t water it down. And then we stopped for a while and now since 3 weeks(he`s 12 months) I`ve been giving him regular OJ (1.5-2oz) for breakfast most days of the week. And that`s all he gets during the day.
honghuzhenni (838.5 days ago) I waited until my LO was 1 year old, just b/c I heard that they get the same nutrition from fruit, as long as they get that often often enough (plus it`s more chunky so it has more fiber for them). But then my LO never got sick...just a mild cold at about 6 months or so. She would drink her formula okay then, not really an issue. However my LO just got sick (more lasting cold) and you should keep them on a clear liquid diet since milk makes them produce more mucus. So when we ran out of off brand Pedialyte, we used watered down juice since she wouldn`t take enough water. Some people offer juice really often, sick or not, and as long as it doesn`t make them stop nursing or taking formula, it should be okay. My doctor always told me to water it down, so we do...but I`m not sure at what age you can/should stop that.
