My mom, and all three sisters have had them. Mom and one sis were vertical cut all the way up ~ they were very sore for 6 weeks and in hospital for almost a week. Out of work for 8 weeks. My other 2 sisters and cousin had the one that is laproscopic and it was much better. Two stayed over night and were glad they did, really needed it. Sore for about 4-6 weeks but up and moving around carefully in a weeks time. Other sis sent home day of surgery and that was the biggest mistake ever!! she was in horrible pain and should have stayed over night. All of them were unable to move that day of surgery so staying is very important. Help was def needed for all for a few days and longer.
