My LO gets a bath everyday although its not because I think it would be `gross` not to. Babies, especially young ones dont need a bath everyday, they dont do much to get dirty and they tend to have sensitive skin prone to drying out. I just bathe my LO everyday because she enjoys bath time so much I wouldnt dream of depriving her of it! Not to mention the fact that its an important part of her routine, she expects a bath everyday!

Our kids get bathed twice a week. We have very dry skin and live in a very dry climate. If they are dirty or sick, we will bathe them more often, but our dr. has limited it to twice a week. They are beautiful, healthy children. Also, I don`t use shampoo for myself. I have been poo`less for 7 months and its amazing to realize that I don`t need shampoo. It was totally drying me out. My hair is not greasy or anything.

When my kids were babies they got their baths in the evenings to relax them for bed but only every other day or if they were fussy. Now that they are a bit older they usually get their bath in the morning. My son goes to school and he gets all grumpy if he doesnt get his bath in the morning!

usually yes, only in certain situations does she skip her bedtime bath

in the summer i wouldnt really miss a day. it cooled her off and what not. in the winter, if its a really cold night, or if shes got a cold or something i would just use a wash cloth to wash her down quickly. she`s 7 now, and she usually takes a bath or shower every night before bed. its always helped her to settle down at night and still does. if we miss a night bc were too busy, or shes got a cold, or for whatever reason, she tends to be more of a restless sleeper that night. i think it just depends on the kid, and the situation on a day by day basis.

My son gets a bath daily b/c it is part of our routine. I do wash him every day, but I don`t think you have too. a lotion massage is also part of our routine after the bath.

Ever since my son was born, he has only had a bath every two to three days and now with him being 14 months, I still only give him a bath that often, but sooner of course depending how dirty he gets in the day. I have always heard it`s not good for their skin, and with me having skin problems myself I don`t want to make his any worse in case he has the same problems as me when he gets older. But, he does get lotion a lot!

my little one gets a bath twice a day, since the day she was born she was bathed in the evening and wiped down in the morning....

My baby is 8 months and I do it everyday so she`s in the routine and knows it`s her bedtime. So far she sleeps through the night every night and I will continue until I think she won`t need it for her nitetime ritual. I would think that toddlers get into so much mischief that they might need a good rinse in the morning or before bed but I guess it does depend on how dirty your kid gets. It`s NOT neceesary and not gross if you don`t though. It`s all good if they only get a bath a few times a week. Just don`t let your kid be the smelly kid in class (like Adam Sandler from Big Daddy!!!) LOL

My daughter usually gets a bath everyday because she LOVES THEM! she is almost 2 and she never wants to leave the tub, i only wash her hair like every 2-3 days. Its not good to wash off your natural oils.

I have noticed if i give my girls a washing bath everyday their skin is getting dry, if mine are messy i ust usually put them in a play bath and all the stickynees and food come off with just water, is that okay or do i wash them every time? oh and what about their hair?

jekajoy (835.5 days ago)
My daughter is 15 months and we bathe her every 2-3 days. She gets wiped down every day a couple times. She doesn`t really take baths...she showers with me and plays with toys while I wash my hair etc. We don`t have any sort of night time rituals other than her musical mobile that she likes to listen to. I`ve found with her, the less rituals, the less fight we have at bedtime.

  1. OMG, I posted on FB (in reponse to a suggestion made to me on From Our House To Yours) that I didn`t like a business because the items were very expensive and my friend got a bad deal there and the owner is threatening to sue me! Have you ever heard of such a thing? I actually paid a consultation fee and my lawyer told me that she was `absurd with possible mental health problems.` I am protected by the fisrt ammendment to express my honest opinions freely where I choose, but he said she can take it to court(because people can TRY to sue over anything) anyway and that it might cost me legal bills. We will both be out a lot of money because she couldn`t possibly win. Can you believe that? FML! First my records and now this! I hope my baby isn`t a bad luck baby. I see people not recommending or recommending businesses all the time on FB!
  2. Is SaraKelly still on here? I know she was a mod but I didn`t see her post in the previous Who Is A Mod poll...
  3. ANGRY!!!! My jenakers account is missing my ENTIRE journal from my high risk pregnancy and my letthisonestick account for my 7 month old is completely gone along with my journal. I AM SICK OVER IT!
  4. I`ve re-thought the moderating of the member-postings. How does this sound? Let`s change it to usage, rather than length of time as a member. Say your first 10 or 20 polls, questions and pictures need to be approved by a Mod or something like that. Someone posting the racist polls and adding the kiddie porn is unlikely to participate as a normal member. Once you are verified as a regular member you`re no longer monitored.
  5. How long did it take you to get pregnant after you got your IUD (Mirena) out?
  6. Twilight valentines for 7 year olds... appropriate or not? DD received a valentine with a very... sultry smoldery Edward on the front and I was just kind of surprised that anyone would buy those for 7 year olds? I know I`m on the conservative side in general on those kinds of things, but this really surprised me!
  7. My daughter is almost 5 months and 3 weeks ago my hair started falling out. I know it`s normal but how long did it last for you?
  8. With all the issues going on with the site maybe we need an updated list on Mods. Obviously Laura is the one to go to but if there is a concern and it needs immediate attention and a Mod is online it may be good to know who is who so you can reach out to them. Mods, can you please post here so we know who you are. (Esp since some profiles names had to be changed because of recent log on issues)
  9. Anyone wanna try http://parentspuzzlepieces.spruz.com/ a free community site I just made? Let me know if you want the password and would want to help add things to it!!
  10. I think with all the posting issues IAP needs to appoint someone to verify all pictures, polls, questions, etc that are posted by new members. Sure, it`ll probably make things slower, but something needs to be done! Many websites have this installed and IAP needs it as well. Members that have been on the site for a certain time can be exempt, but if you are a new member, posts should be monitored. I`m going to copy this suggestoin to Laura and if you agree you should too!! :)
