That study is hilarious though. Not sure what a season would have to do with demographics, but I could see that a winter baby has less interaction right from birth and a perhaps increased risk of PPD with Moms because they are more cooped up. Nothing that would show lasting effects however.

I say spring. And that study is a load of crap!

Since I swaddle my baby, I would have liked to have him in cooler weather. He gets too hot in his wrappings.

I have one of each, winter, spring, and summer. I loved each season...there are a couple pro`s and con`s with each though. One con of a summer baby boy is that I feel like he might be too immature to start school when he is five...since he will be a very young five. So, we are thinking about having him start when he is six. Also because boys generally mature later, he might be a smaller boy in high school. If he plans to play sports, this might effect that too??? So, if we plan to keep him back one year, that becomes a bigger expense daycare wise...one more year of daycare for us equals about $5,000 per year. Just one thing to think about. Summer babies...we get very hot here in the summer, so we were very much housebound with him. Winter babies...because of bad weather, we didn`t have as many visitors early on...but that was ok too.

I`m due in December, and now that my body temp seems to rise in proportion with my increasing girth, I like the cool temp outside. I was swelling uncomfortably during the summer heat, so that is more comfortable now, too. I`ve had many people tell me that being big-pregnant during the summer is a nightmare, but I think you can find good and bad things about any season :)

I`ve had one summer baby, one spring, and about to have my second winter baby. I really liked having them in the spring and summer. As for the research, I think thats a load of bull. My brother was born in Nov and is beyond smart and my little one that was born in winter has been farther advanced than my other two were. I guess they can find research to prove anything they want to now-a-days though.

I`ve had 3 summer babies and I`ve loved having them in the summer. I never stay down after a baby is born. I`d go insane so I love to put the newborn in the stroller and go for lots of walks and enjoy being outside with the newborn and my other kids. Plus, I`ve never had a problem with having the `baby blues` or post partum depression but I can imagine experiencing that more likely if I was stuck inside all winter.

they just did a study that i read that said that winter babies arent as i guess smart maybe school wise, less healthy prolly cuz of the weather that it has alot to do w/...im a january baby and my daughter is a november baby tho ............"A large body of research suggests that, on average, winter babies grow up to be less educated, less intelligent, less healthy and lower paid than people born in the spring, summer or fall. Scientists have blamed the winter babies' woes on everything from the weather to age cutoffs for school." Babies born in the winter are more likely to have mothers who are unmarried teenagers who lack a high-school diploma,Consider that heat impairs sperm, which might explain the springtime dip — nine months after summer — in births to lower socioeconomic women...........
