Before 40lb I'll take baby out of the 5-point harness and put baby into Booster.
Only until 40lb (the bare minimun by law in the US). Then they go right into a booster!
Only until 40lb AND 4 years old then into a booster.
Only until 40lb AND 4 years old AND 4'9"
I know about car seat safety, and I'll keep my child in a 5-point harness for as long as I can, 65lb +

I am sorry but you are wrong. In California EVERYONE must wear a seatbelt. If you are over the age of 16 and riding as a passenger YOU can be cited as well as the driver. `Who is required to wear a seat belt? In California, almost everyone is required to wear a seat belt. The only exceptions are people with a medical condition that makes it unsafe to wear one, and people with occupations that require them to get in and out of their car all the time, such as newspaper delivery people, meter readers, mail carriers, and garbage truck drivers. Even workers in these professions must buckle up on the way to and from their routes.` http://california.drivinguniversity.com/driving-safety/california-seat-belt-law http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d12/vc27315.htm

Only in the front seat, if you are 16 and older you can go seatbeltless in the back seat in the states of california and michigan...

Effective July 1, 2008, Michigan state law requires that children under age 8 must be properly restrained in a car seat or booster seat. Children who are under age 8 but taller than 4`9` may use the vehicle seat belt. The law in Michigan further states that children ages 8 to 16 must wear a seat belt no matter where in the vehicle they ride. ............. In California, car seat laws err further on the side of caution than many other states. California state law requires children to ride in a federally approved baby car seat or child booster seat until they are at least 6 years old or weigh at least 60 pounds. California also requires children under age 16 to be buckled up with a seat belt. i would more rather go for 8 years old!...whats the rush to get out of a booster?!...safety 1st!...im from michigan but now live in california

I think when they get to 5 they can just be in a booster with a normal seatbelt. I think thats what the road rules are over here. Personally I cant wait till my child is out of a carseat since we dont own a car and having to take a seat in and out of other peoples cars and never being able to accept a lift anywhere sucks, but of course I will do it until I think she is old enough!

Both my boys will be in a 5pt harness until they are at least 8 yrs old and/or 80lbs which is the highest limit they make a 5pt harness for. My 4 yr old is 53lbs so he might not make it to 8 yrs old, but as long as he fits in the seat safely, i will keep him in it. Thank goodness for Britax seats.

My son is 4 years old-43 inches tall and 38 lbs. He`s still in a 5 point harness Britax and is perfectly comfy and fine there. I don`t have plans of taking him out of it anytime soon.

I`m at 19 weeks, and just had my 20 week ultrasound a week early (thank you THANKSGIVING!!), am overjoyed to find out everything is A OK BUT I have `marginal Placenta previa` my midwife says she`s NOT concerned and that it will VERY VERY VERY likely move up on its own and I can deliver naturally and vaginally as planned, if not I have to have the dreaded C-section. Which i`m SO terrified over I get into a panic every time i think about it. So, my question is: Has anyone here HAD marginal placenta previa and had it move up by the time the baby is born?
