I scares me b/c I have heard of those EMT`s, doctors etc. that if they see u r an organ donor and they have connections to getting money for those organs or perhaps some other alterior motive then they are less likely to save u b/c they want that prgan. lol I know Im such a freakin paranoid. But I will admit I have a heart on my drivers lisence. I feel selfish b/c I belive in cremation so why not- if one of my organs could be used to save a life than what do I need them for?

You don`t have to pay to be an organ donor, you just need to let your family know so they can inform doctors in case you are in an accident or something. All it takes is the consent of immediate family.

I would be, but I hated the fact that I had to pay an extra dollar to be one. No, I am not paying you more money so that you can take my organs. It`s silly, but that bothered me. lol.

I am definatly an organ donor. I want to be cremated because what is the point of having a casket and all that? It just kinda polutes the earth. I hate when people say that they arent donors because they will let you die so they can use your organs for someone else. THAT IS SHIT! Why would they kill you to save someone else? They wouldnt!

brooklyn, they replace your blood with enbalming fluid but do not remove anything else, unless you are an organ donor, in which case they can (but won`t necessarily) take healthy organs that someone else needs. (And if they do take organs, they do it *before* your blood is replaced, because otherwise the organs wouldn't be any use to anyone else.)

Yes definitely. I hate the idea that my organs would just go to waste. Once I`m dead, it`s not like my body will matter anyway.

do they take out your insides when you pass away??? i mean they dont last so they put the preservative in you....??? anyone know the answer to that....cuz i thought they drained your blood and all...

I feel the same as cheeky, but I`m a donor too. Except I don`t want to be in the ground at all, lol. I want to be creamated so my kids can keep me in their living room so I don`t miss a thing! Ha ha! But I feel like if I can help someone after I`m gone I should, ya know? And then there will be part of me living on! I still feel a little weird about it though.... Hopefully I`ll live so long my organs will be of no use to anyone but me. :)
