t555rm (832.6 days ago) Oh and I`ll only have a hospital with a midwife birth if there`s a next time. No homebirths for me just coz of the risks involved.
t555rm (832.6 days ago) I had a hospital birth with an OBGYN. I wish I had had a midwife instead. I think they are more involved with their patients and more sensitive to their needs. My OB was very professional, she did answer all my questions n all but it was very point blank and abrupt. I understand she`s really busy but I she should have been more informal if u know what I mean. I eventually ended up hating her during n after my labor for her total insensitivity and `let`s finish this fast I`ve gotta plane to catch` attitude.
honghuzhenni (832.6 days ago) Although my labor and delivery went quite well, my DD needed a CPAP and I had a 4th degree tear, so I`m really glad that my midwives delivered at the hospital, otherwise we would have needed an ambulance and been there anyhow. The idea of a home birth sounds cool, but I think I`d be too scared for health and safety reasons to try it myself.
luvin Colton (832.6 days ago) my birth will be at a birthing center located inside our hospital.... and i chose a midwife but i can still have pain meds and a doc/.surgeon is always there if i need it, i feel really lucky to have the best of all worlds available to me!
thumper (832.7 days ago) i had a homeirth with my son purely because i had a straight forward pregnancy, there is proof that homebriths are as safe if not safer than hospital births well in the uk im not sure about other countries, with this baby im planning a home birth with option for hospital as my son will be at home and if it distresses him i would rather go to hospital
ladykilla421 (832.7 days ago) I initially wanted a home birth with a midwife after watching `The buisness of being born` but because this was our first baby my SO didint think it was a good idea (he felt really uncomfortable and actually thought midwives were grossly under-qualified....lol) So I ended up with a hospital birth with an OB. I really enjoyed the laboring process and in hindisght I am happy I had the baby in a hospital where I could get pain relief and have a supportive nurse with me (my husband was supportive he just had no idea what he was doing)
natalie75 (832.7 days ago) with my first I had a Dr at a big hospital, I hated everything about it. My second was with a midwife at a smalltown hospital kinda of like a birthing center and I loved it, This time around I am going with the same midwife but I haven`t decided if I want to do it at home or at the same place as my second. I also hired a Doula with my second with I loved since my SO was not very helpful with my first.
jeff (832.7 days ago) We had a home water birth. It went beautifully.
mtnwoman(shelly) (832.7 days ago) thank you for the input. I had a hospital birth with my son and it was a terrible experience and don`t think it should ever be that way for anyone. Sadly, I`ve heard the same story many times from other moms and I`m starting to weigh the risks of a home birth and if they are totally worth taking to actually have a good experience! I know something `could` happen with a home birth, but I have not actually heard of someone really having anything bad happen. So if it has, that is what I want to know, and why it happened. Thanks ladies!
amandad74 (832.7 days ago) I had medicated hospital births with my first two and a drug free home water birth with a midwife with our last baby. If I ever were to have another baby I would def have a home water birth again, it was by far the best experience and I wish I`d had the guts to go for it before:)
LKLmama (832.7 days ago) I have had a medicated hospital birth and a drug free water birth at a birth center and am planning a homebirth this time. I will never unless there is an emergancy go to a hospital to give birth. I loved my birthcenter but would rather be home.
luvbeingamom (832.7 days ago) I had 2 hospital births. The first one, thank God! He had the cord around his neck and wouldn`t have made it if we had been at home. My second, though i was more comfortable in teh hospital (and liked their drugs!) My son contracted viral meningitis at his birth. We were back in the hospital when he was 5 days old. That sucked. he is fine and viral is not as bad as bacterial (no long term issues with viral), but still not where you want to be with a 5 day old.
phooey (832.7 days ago) I delivered in a hospital, but hired a doula- best thing I ever did. I highly recommend it!
