I didn`t really have anything ready either. Babies don`t need a whole lot at first anyway, just love, milk, and diapers. We had a bassinett, and by the time the baby was born, we did have a crib in his room, but a bassinet is fine at first anyway. My son is 7 weeks old today and his furniture still isn`t finished (hubby was refinishing my old furniture). My son doesn`t seem to mind ;)

Thanks for all the tips and advise guys! :] Sadly enough I haven`t even had my shower yet! But I`m going to within the next week, maybe two weeks. I really need to find out what it is I will still need and get it ready for my baby!

Most people actually wait until 25- 30 weeks to really start preparing. That is when most have had or are finishing up baby showers so you get those gifts- so then you know what you need to buy- also Im the same way. I did not want to go overboard etc. `just in case.` My hubby is still just now finishing up the nursery. I have everything (except I am havign my baby shower Saturday) but it is not setup, washed, organized etc yet b/c we are getting carpet in there next week- so basically Ill be 38-39 weeks before he room is ready. Im praying she does not come before she is due or I am so SOL...lol =)

i hope it`s not a bad thing... i`m in the same boat as you. i`m 33 weeks, but we`re in escrow for our new house right now, so it`s kinda pointless to set up a nursery in a house i`m moving out of. i just hope this dumb escrow hurries up cuz this baby`s coming whether he has a nursery or not!

I`m 34 weeks and have done nothing! Mind you I have 3 kids under 5 so I`m so tired by the end of the day! was planning on spending my weekend organising but as long as its all done by 36 weeks then it`ll be fine!!

nope, i wont be getting ready at all until the week before his due date, our house is in major reconstruction and i wont be able to have a celing dust stuff and wall matter free home until the week before his due date, so no baby items, except minimal clothes which i still cant wash due to the fact there is no where safe for anything. im praying he doesnt come early, so im sure your better off than me!

Its not bad....I mean if your baby was born and you had nothing put together that might be bad. Like love.nora said its just going to be an inconvienience for you. You might want to start getting things ready so your not full term or already have the baby and insanely pressed for time!

Don`t think it is right to say it is a bad thing but it is going to be more of an inconvenience for you. I am 28 weeks and really most of the things i have got are the litle stuff like clothes, a tub, bottles and anyhting I got from the shower I just had. The longer you wait the harder it will be financially and probably mobility wise to get everything done in time. GL

  1. OMG, I posted on FB (in reponse to a suggestion made to me on From Our House To Yours) that I didn`t like a business because the items were very expensive and my friend got a bad deal there and the owner is threatening to sue me! Have you ever heard of such a thing? I actually paid a consultation fee and my lawyer told me that she was `absurd with possible mental health problems.` I am protected by the fisrt ammendment to express my honest opinions freely where I choose, but he said she can take it to court(because people can TRY to sue over anything) anyway and that it might cost me legal bills. We will both be out a lot of money because she couldn`t possibly win. Can you believe that? FML! First my records and now this! I hope my baby isn`t a bad luck baby. I see people not recommending or recommending businesses all the time on FB!
  2. Is SaraKelly still on here? I know she was a mod but I didn`t see her post in the previous Who Is A Mod poll...
  3. ANGRY!!!! My jenakers account is missing my ENTIRE journal from my high risk pregnancy and my letthisonestick account for my 7 month old is completely gone along with my journal. I AM SICK OVER IT!
  4. I`ve re-thought the moderating of the member-postings. How does this sound? Let`s change it to usage, rather than length of time as a member. Say your first 10 or 20 polls, questions and pictures need to be approved by a Mod or something like that. Someone posting the racist polls and adding the kiddie porn is unlikely to participate as a normal member. Once you are verified as a regular member you`re no longer monitored.
  5. How long did it take you to get pregnant after you got your IUD (Mirena) out?
  6. Twilight valentines for 7 year olds... appropriate or not? DD received a valentine with a very... sultry smoldery Edward on the front and I was just kind of surprised that anyone would buy those for 7 year olds? I know I`m on the conservative side in general on those kinds of things, but this really surprised me!
  7. My daughter is almost 5 months and 3 weeks ago my hair started falling out. I know it`s normal but how long did it last for you?
  8. With all the issues going on with the site maybe we need an updated list on Mods. Obviously Laura is the one to go to but if there is a concern and it needs immediate attention and a Mod is online it may be good to know who is who so you can reach out to them. Mods, can you please post here so we know who you are. (Esp since some profiles names had to be changed because of recent log on issues)
  9. Anyone wanna try http://parentspuzzlepieces.spruz.com/ a free community site I just made? Let me know if you want the password and would want to help add things to it!!
  10. I think with all the posting issues IAP needs to appoint someone to verify all pictures, polls, questions, etc that are posted by new members. Sure, it`ll probably make things slower, but something needs to be done! Many websites have this installed and IAP needs it as well. Members that have been on the site for a certain time can be exempt, but if you are a new member, posts should be monitored. I`m going to copy this suggestoin to Laura and if you agree you should too!! :)
