amber325 (831.1 days ago) I wouldn`t ...if the damage to the car was no bad...and there was no weight in the car. IF IT WAS A MAJOR crash like totalled car or air bag deployed I would! BUT if it was a tiny fender bender no injury to you or the car really it is fine.
luvbeingamom (831.4 days ago) My insurance company said as long as there was no weight in the carseat at the time of the accident then there is not reason to get a new seat. I checked this out and it seems that is the recommendation. However, i was to nervous and got a new one anyways.
.punky. (831.4 days ago) YES....My car was in two (minor) accidents a month apart and we got a new one both times BUT the insurance company PAID FOR THEM BOTH TIMES, and each time it was a different insurance company. The wreck was not my fault either time however. If the wreck was not your sister`s fault then get the other drivers insurance company to buy a new carseat. I`m not sure how it works if it was her fault though~or if it is the same in your state.
hopefully3 (831.5 days ago) Yes you should get a new one. In fact this is why they say not to buy a used car seat because you never know if the seat has been in an accident.
5against1 (831.5 days ago) Definately. It makes no difference if she was in the seat or not at the time. The seat itself has been thru an accident.
megandgrace (831.5 days ago) Yes i definitely would, just like the others have said!
DiandClover (831.5 days ago) Yes, in fact, insurance will cover the cost, just keep the receipt and send it to the insurance company. In Canada, it is the law to have a carseat destroyed in any accident, even a fender bender. When I was in an accident a couple of months ago, the first thing the tow truck driver did when he arrived was cut the straps of my son`s car seat.
