rosye13 (13.3 days ago) I guess for us it depends on the age. My two month old still sleeps on our chests. We take turns with her. She will be 3 months next week and I think we`re going to start to work her into the routine that we have her 15 month old sister in, which is bath, bottle and then to bed, awake but drowsy. We kind of try to slowly work the newborn into being able to sleep alone. I think it must be hard to live in that warmth, hearing the heart beat and the breathing of your mother and then all of a sudden you`re just laying there alone in the silence . . . so I just feel better about giving them a little time on our chests to get used to this world :)
babyloveandme (15.1 days ago) I nurse my 14 month old to sleep or my husband puts on music and dances with her, it usually takes one or two songs. Sometimes we go for a family walk in the evening and that puts her to sleep for the night too! (We get half way around the block and she is out).
nuggetlovin (15.2 days ago) I always put my daughter in her crib awake so that she could learn to self soothe and not be afraid of her room and being alone and it worked wonderfully!! She always goes straight to sleep without me having to rock her and all that and if she wakes up in the midle of the night she doesn`t even cry...she just puts herself back to sleep. My bf has a 2 yo whom was rocked and always `put to sleep` before she was laid down....she still wakes up all night and screams for us to come check on her b/c she can`t self soothe. I am pregnant now and plan on using the same method i did with my 4 year old.
Eloises-mummy! (15.3 days ago) i was thinking the same thing as robin. i did all of the above. depended on how tired they were and how they were feeling.
RobinG (15.4 days ago) All of the above, it depended on the situation ~
