mumsy`s poll Show results | Hide results

Name-poll My 16 month old is 21 pounds. Is this terribly small? He is a great eater, sleeper and is very happy, it just seems he is a bit smaller than other children his age.

As long as yoru child is growing steadily between doc visits (they should have him marked on the growth curve) then he is fine. My son is 24 months and is 26lbs. :-)

How is his growth curve? The doc should be showing you at his apmnts. If it is going up and not leveling off or going down then your LO is fine :) Every baby is different ~ Hunter was 29 lbs but he has always been in top % :) If your doc isnt concerned then all is fine but if Doc expressed concern then I`d look into ways to increase his weight safely ~

my daughter is 18months and shes only just over 20lbs. Shes tall but small in size. She still has a good bit of fat on her. Her 11month old cousin has gone past her in weight. Eloise hasnt really put any weight on in a few months even though she eats like a horse lol she just never sits still.

Every child is different, you can`t compare one to the other. My 21 month old is 24 pounds and his now 5 year old brother was easily 30 pounds by that age.

My 15month old is 22 lbs and she is in the 50th percentile so I wouldn`t worry

my girlfriends daughter is 4 and just hit 24lbs and she`s healthy...tiny but fine otherwise...I wouldn`t worry unless your Dr thinks that there is a medical issue...every child is different.
