angie2008 (828.6 days ago) thanks ladies, all the comments made lots of sense.
Dezzi (828.9 days ago) I`m pretty sure he will be ok. Breast milk is perfect for babies! At about age 3, we lose the ability to digest milk properly (concidering we are the only animal to drink milk after we are weaned). So you might have issues, but your little one should be ok. :)

It`s just your body producing less of the enzyme needed to break lactose down into it`s simpler form. Most people don`t start becoming lactose intolerant until between 2 and 5 years old (depending on race) if it happens at all. Also, lactose intolerance is completely different from a milk allergy which is an immune response to certain milk proteins (primarily casein or whey). Sometimes an infant can be allergic to something the mother eats which is passed on through her breast milk.
kimmarie (829.5 days ago) When I was pregnant I never drank milk. Not because I can`t but because I don`t like it. I actually don`t eat cheese either (hate it). So I drank lots of orange juice with calcium. My son is fine. I breastfed him for six months before transitioning him to formula (he digested it fine). Then when I introduced milk ~ he liked it (and he digested that fine too). Although my son is not a cheese eater just like his mama.
luvbeingamom (829.6 days ago) I am lactose intolerant and my older son ended up being allergic to dairy until he was 2 and half. He did grow out of it and is fine now. My younger son never had problems with dairy. So it really just depends on the child. however, your breastmilk is prefect for your baby. If you find that your LO is gassy and you are eating dairy, stop eating dairy and they will no longer be getting the dairy protiens through your milk. your milk isn`t dairy, it is made of what you eat. I couldn`t have dairy or broccoli b/c it bothered my sons stomach while bf. :)
