tto (827.4 days ago) Get a good metal one with a gate, but look at how the gate works- ours is a pain. It`s hard to open with your hands full. But the good thing is that you can`t slam a finger or toe in the door at all- no pinching either. They can`t climb it and it will last a long time. EditDelete

AngieP (828.5 days ago) http://www.amazon.com/First-Years-Hands-Free-Gate/dp/B000058CC7 . You do have to buy the extension. We have 2 of these and after 2 years are still in perfect shape. EditDelete
nutnut (828.5 days ago) i got one at walmart its got vertical bars instead of the net looking plastic barrier. it also opens and closes by use of a foot pedal you need to step on it pretty hard to get it open. it was the only thing that kept my daughter out. i believe they still sell them but i cant recall the name of it. they are a bit more pricey than the standard ones, but not unreasonable.
