Tara83 (828.1 days ago) I too have thought about making my own, my Son is very long and out grew the sling I had bought with in a few weeks so I found the sleepy wrap online (I saw an add on this site actually and so I went to the website lol) and with shipping it was only $45 so I figured I would save myself the trouble of trying to make one (since I am not crafty) and have one sent to my front door with in 10 days LOL. Good luck with making your own.... who knows maybe you will end up creating a new style and your baby wrap will be the next hot thing ;o)
5against1 (828.3 days ago) I am not crafty in ANY way, but I actually tried to make my own. It turned out horrible and its used now to cover my bird cage.
MaddoxAndAverysMama (828.3 days ago) I made my own a while back... I got the fabric thats sort of stretchy like jersey... it was awesome! I also made my own pouch sling... wonderful... and ring sling.. super easy... go for it... wear it around the house after you make it and check yourself in a mirror occasionally to make sure baby doesn`t shift... I had made a pouch sling that the measurements were wrong and it was cutting circulation off on his leg... not bad... probably wouldn`t have amounted to anything, but I was able to make the adjustments..
rorylex2008 (828.3 days ago) it is cheaper to buy depending on the fabric u use and if u want double layer wrap.
i have a popit wrap which is like the moby only a bit softer and it is double layer how ever it is more expensive than a moby. I am also a big fan of baby wearing i wear my 17mth old in a pouch sling all the time. though being 31wks pregnant i dont as much at the moment. i find the good thing about making it your self is u can make it longer or shorter, im not tiny so a slightly longer wrap would be nice but my popit wrap is just the right length.
jeff (828.3 days ago) I made several so we have choices on colours etc when we go out. It is very easy. 5.5 meters in length with tapered ends to make tying easier. and approx 20 inches wide. :) have fun
adkinsrus07 (828.4 days ago) Can I admit something stupid- I am all for whatever a mom wants to do- and I know it has got to be so much easier being hands free and all but I have this ridiculous fear that I may fall forwards and despite all my attempts to cover baby or land on my hands that I would end up falling on my baby if I had it strapped to my chest. Please dont think Im being silly. Hubby bought me one of the straps to try when our princess arrives but Im a little scared. Whats your experience have u ever almost fell?
christinarose (828.4 days ago) I bought a Moby wrap, and if I had known then what I know now, I would have just made it myself! It doesn`t really need to be quite that long either. I would say try making one yourself!
