rosye13 (827.8 days ago) I think they`re right, try wic. It`s based on your income. Although, being a teenager (under 18?) I`m not sure if they`d look at their income or their parents. EditDelete
LKLmama (827.8 days ago) Wic loaned me a medela duel electric pump when I was nursing my son! EditDelete
Dezzi (828.2 days ago) It depends where you are, I`m in calgary AB and there was a place here that would let you rent one (hospital grade) for free. EditDelete
piglet2686 (828.2 days ago) I think you can get one from your local W.I.C. office. EditDelete
babydecember (828.3 days ago) My insurance paid for mine 90% and I got a Medela Pump-in-Style for $27.50 out of pocket. They won`t tell you about it unless you ask - so just give you insurance company a call :) EditDelete
tiffany2 (828.3 days ago) You can rent one monthly at the hospitals around here but not sure if they do that everywhere. EditDelete
Str8 As (828.3 days ago) They usually give you a manual pump at the hospital or atleast that is what they do hear. Just ask they may be able to direct her to more resources. EditDelete
Austin::and::Alexs::Momma (828.3 days ago) Thanks Ladies, I`ll pass the word. Yorkc - she is breastfeeding (trying), but the baby is having a very hard time with it - she wants to try pumping, but doesn`t have a pump. EditDelete
luvbeingamom (828.3 days ago) WIC, some insurances will pay for one and sometime the family planning places will have them to rent at discount prices. EditDelete
yorkc39 (828.3 days ago) i don`t know if wic will give you a breast pump, i`m on wic myself, but they do give good stuff like coupons for juice, milk, food while pregnant and food for baby. There is also Medicaid available which I`m also on which covers mom while pregnant and baby up to 5 years, just go to your local health dept, and ask about it, they also give shots and checkups for baby while you`re on Medicaid. There are places probably around the area that may provide breast pumps for cheap or free or ask someone you know, but a teenage mom may not breastfeed (face the facts lol), so wic will provide formula.
