nmck (827.3 days ago) We bought a bunch of white terrycloth towels in the auto department at BJs meant to be used as shop towels. You can also buy them at Costco and Walmart. We have about 4 dozen, use them frequently, and wash them with some bleach once a week. We love them!!
t555rm (827.3 days ago) Oh and I only use wash cloths in the kitchen and to wipe down tables or other furniture. In the bathroom I use paper towels for the counters n toilet seats.
t555rm (827.4 days ago) I use wash cloths too. I just wash them under the tap after I wipe the counters and when I do laundry 2* a week, I throw them in the washer too. Sponges in the dishwasher is a neat idea. I`ve also read that throwing it in the microwave (wet) for 2 min kills 99% of the bacteria.
canadababy (827.4 days ago) Disposable wipes or paper towel.
natalie75 (827.4 days ago) I use microfiber clothes from Norwex. They kill 99% of bacteria and virus with just using water, they also have silver in the which disinfects the cloth when they dry.
christinarose (827.5 days ago) I have a shelf in a cupboard of wash cloths. I use a sink full of hot soapy water, then throw in the bin of dirty ones. I don`t see how that`s hard. I`m doing a load or 2 of laundry every day anyways, so I throw those in with them. I like the sponge in the dishwasher idea too!
brendalee (827.5 days ago) I don`t have time to wash a rag after every use lol And no, I don`t use disposable wipes more than once, that`s why they`re disposable. And I don't do dishes, we always use the dishwasher.
My5Babies:) (827.5 days ago) Hmm, i always use washclothes. Different ones for the kitchen rather than the bathrooms. i don`t see where it is that hard to throw the rags/washclothes into the wash with other hand towels from the kitchen. I use the wipes for small things, like the high chair, but mostly I use rags/washclothes.
armymom (827.5 days ago) I`m too lazy to wash rags.
krystasappleseed (827.5 days ago) I use clorox, lysol, or even costco has a nice brand of disenfectant wipes.
oh and they also have lysol spray that is a disinfectant. so you wont have to wipe if there isnt anything to get off the counter like crumbs.. it just drys by iteself. also I use to work in daycare and you can make your own solution by mixing 1 part bleach with 3 parts water and just keep in a spray bottle. just spray down what ever and wipe or just let dry if its a fine mist ( we also used this for disinfecting toys. you could use just any old rag for that as your using bleach and this prevents germs and bacteria. ( you do want to make a new solution though every 2 days or so) fyi. hope this helped
3girls2008 (827.5 days ago) I use clorox or lysol wipes they are great! the lysol ones even have a scrubby side! Theyre perfect for when you just need a quick wipe down
soon2be3 (827.5 days ago) Yeah, if I am cleaning the counters, I don`t use the same cloth for dishes. I also have seperate cloths that I use to wipe the kids down after meals. There is no cross-contamination. I usually wash dishes once a day (if they don`t go in the dishwasher) and I use a fresh cloth each time. I agree, cloths or sponges that used over and over without being properly washed would be gross. I have a little basket in my laundry room that I use to collect all the kitchen towels and cloths.
5against1 (827.5 days ago) there used to be a commercial for paper towels that repeated that several times. andf showed the lady washing her countertop w a sponge and u saw the `germs` spreading. 10x in the commercial it said how gross it was to use anything other than a papertowel. but the reality is, your not re-using this germy rag. it gets washed after use.
brendalee (827.5 days ago) The idea of something wet sitting on my sink collecting bacteria then washing my counters with it just grosses me out lol I`ve heard about Clorox wipes so I might try those :)
5against1 (827.6 days ago) lol. i use rags. alot of time i use shirts that my kids ruin, or towels that get old, and just cut them into squares. i never thought of it as gross.
soon2be3 (827.6 days ago) Vinegar and water and cloths.
