courtenay (826.7 days ago) i took my full 12 months
jekajoy (826.7 days ago) I went back 5 weeks after my daughter was born via csection. I might get 6 weeks off this time since I`ll get 60% of my pay...but I don`t think we`ll make our bills that way! Must be nice to think of maternity leave in `months`! Not here in the U.S.!
RobinG (826.7 days ago) In the USA its 6-8 weeks unless you also use your vacation time and extended family leave. Most I know returned by 8-12 weeks after using maternity leave time and vacation time.
canadababy (827.1 days ago) I took off work one month early, I`ll be going back to work when our LO is 11months old.
adkinsrus07 (827.1 days ago) Wow I wish I was getting any of thsoe time periods. In the USA a women can technically take as long as she wants as long as her job agreeed to it. Most women will not get paid the weeks that they are off- but some employers offer a paid amount of time and many insurance companies allow you to purchase a disability plan that will give you some money on your leave. In the USA we have the a law that allows a max of 6-8 weeks of maternity leave after birth that the employer has to hold your job open for you. It all depends. I am taking my maternity leave from the 20th (Im due the 28th) until 6 weeks after her birth or less if I chose to go back earlier. My insurance will pay 70% of my gross salary to me each week for up to 12 weeks. I will be returning to my current employer - this will be my 2nd pregnancy while being employed at my company and they are fabulous.
